Hammerite on wood?

I have been bringing back to life an old bench and changed the wooden slats completely; the paint I chose is not exactly the colour I wanted, so, as I do seem to have a bit of it about, can anyone tell me svp whether one can paint Hammerite onto waterbased paint on wood?

Merce d'avance.
But did he mean it was a good idea??!
I felt sorry for Wooly, Even Norman has a roof over his head by way of his barrel, seems wooly has fallen on hard times and is now sleeping on a park bench so if he want's to renovate it with the paint he has I didn't want to add any more financial pressure with new paint [;-)][Www]

My Brother (computing) painted his front doorstep with Hammerite, whilst the finish isn't what I would call good it has lasted.

If you did want to use it then I would recommend that you seal the wood with a cellulose sanding sealer. That's what I use when I am finishing anything off with melamine lacquer and that stuff stinks far more than Hammerite. It would definitely give you a better finish than just the Hammerite.

Mind you, I use cellulose sanding sealer quite often. Cheaper than booze [8-)][8-)]
