Are there any furniture "superstores" around the Calais or Arras areas?

(That was very straight and to-the-point, wasn't it!!)

Try conforama.fr - They list stores in Arras, Calais etc.  Stuff not bad (depends on how upmarket you want to go) and a fair price.  I got 2 beds (good quality) from here.

Only about a million of them!  Seriously, in the 'Retail Therapy' area outside every large town there are lots of these places like Conforama (as mentioned above), BUT, the brico sheds like Leroy Merllin and there's an IKEA at Lille which is just down the road.  If I remember right, Arras has a huge choice of places and Calais also between the motorway and the town and another to the West of the port towards Bleriot Plage.

Also remember that beds over here come as two seperate entities, mattress and base always sold seperately. Then you will need the legs (available in all aforementioned brico stores). Carrefour at Berck presently have a special bed offer on at prices much reduced than Conforama etc. Generally , Meubles stores are much more expensive.
