Clair
It's called amidon in French. It's usually sold next to the washing powders. Leader Price used to do one.

mint
Coops, you might just be making a joke and I, as quite often, don't "get it". I thought a rouge-gorge was a robin![:-))]
gosub
I think Cooperlola is giving away her age. My mother used to tell me about "Robin" starch.[:D]
Gemonimo
I have a can of spray Robin starch bought from Leclerc in the rayon where they have treatments for stains, dyes etc. Can'r remember the price, though. And it smells delicious.

We tend to go for the limp and slightly crumpled look.I'm afraid that goes for the bedding as well. It's kind of carefree and unrestrictive, if you see what I mean? cooperlola
Sweets, I find it hard to believe that your mum didn't have rouge-gorge starch in the cupboard when you were little (I'm not entirely sure that mine ever used it though!)
mint
Coops, believe me, she didn't have rouge-gorge starch. She had white powdered starch which she mixed with boiling water and used to rinse things like shirts and school uniforms before ironing them!I fear that my housekeeping standards bear no discernible relation to my mother's! gosub
I have to admit that it was a bit of a lie to say that my mother told me about the starch, I do remember it from my childhood.[:(]
