Cardmaking Supplies

Is anyone aware of any french stores specialising in card making items? Specifically required are supplies of card by the sheet, metallic envelopes etc.

This is one of my passions and will probably be extra useful for making 100s of Christmas cards when we land in France.

Our local M Bricolage has craft supplies and the book/card/stationary shops Majuscule also have these sort of things.
Live in France the French way- they only send on average 6 cards each for christmas - they phone up instead in the new year .
It's definitely cheaper to make your own- I once made christmas crackers as well.

Having produced origination for 1000's of Christmas and Greetings cards I too thought what a dismall range there is in France,
What about getting to know a local printer and see what odds and end he has?
Paper Merchants and Mills we also supply sample sheets - sometimes you might be lucky and get 6 sheets of SRA2 or similar.
Envelopes are easy enought to make by hand if you can get the materials.

If you can get down to Brive (Correze Dept 19)there are several places there that do a range of craft supplies including cards. It shouldn't take you too long from north Dordogne. I would think Limoges would also have retailers. (Contact me if you want more specific directions re. Brive)

I make my own cards too - varies from cross stitch to collage to stamping, depending on my mood and energy!

I get my supplies quarterly from a UK firm, who aren't too extortionate with their P&P charges. Happy to send details if anyone's interested..

If you have a Sky Digibox, you should be able to receive a shopping channel called (I think) Create & Craft. The main presenters are Alan and Barry from Ideal World TV (of which Create & Craft is a spin-off).

Until a few years ago,our German friends bought all their cards in the UK,they was no such thing in Germany-another Yank import!!

I too am a mad fanatic card maker; rubber stamping is my poison!
Have found the odd craft shop here, but nothing fantastic in the way of supplies. Basically, I'm relying on the internet and QVC (via Sky or the internet). QVC actually have a whole craft day coming up on 29th August and even if you don't have access to Sky, you can buy through their website (www.qvcuk.com). I've already bought quite a lot of stuff from them since we've been here and the service is very good.
There are also several rubber stamp suppliers who will mail to Europe (many of these sell paper and card), and I've also just discovered some of the "shops" on e-bay who will also mail to Europe. Steer clear of the private auctioners though as most will only mail to the UK.
Ideal World on Sky do good value craft supplies but they won't post to France. Incidentally, can anyone tell me the channel number for the craft spin-off with Alan and Barry as I haven't been able to find it.
