Llywncelyn, doesn't your name mean holly bush?  NOT planting one of those and as for the Victoria Plum, I think I'll settle for an Agen Plum, if there is such a thing.

No, I think I'd prefer to buy locally but thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks for giving me the link.  Will be able to make apple tart like they do at the Italian's (Rabaotti?spelling) in Taff Street, Pontypridd!

We are only just over the border from you and I have rarely seen these trees in gardens.  There might be the odd orange tree here and there.  I HAVE see orange and lemon trees sold in markets but they have not looked exactly perky to me.  Why don't you have a good look around the gardens in your area as what grows in them is a good indicator of what will do well.  You could also ask at garden centres near you.
