Tomatoes after potatos

Yes, they are of the same 'family' so you should avoid planting them in the same place two years in a row. We had colorado beetle on our potatoes and my neighbour's aubergines one year and it was a real pain picking them all off each day. On the up side, they are very pretty, like flying humbugs! They stuck to our potatoes and didn't touch my tomatoes, thankfully.

After potatoes, try and plant something that likes a deep soil, eg, carrots or parsnips. Not aubergines, though, treat them like tomatoes or potatoes.
