AirBnb Problems

Recommended Posts

"Earlier this year a bill was also passed in France legalising short term

rentals of primary residences - great for Airbnb in Paris."

Above quote is directly from your reference. Perhaps French legislation is becoming less protectionist.

Yes I picked up that gross misinterpretation too [:)]

The French government desperately need the author as a spin doctor [:D]

Anyone use AirBnB for lettings?

My clients are finding me through word of mouth and the prominent position of my property, the problem being that currently they are coming from Canada or St Nazaire, Toulouse etc, all the research and bookings etc are being done remotely and they are not finding me from their searches, not surprising the way Google puts 10 pages of commercial sites that promise but dont actually have any accomodation within 100kms.

I asked them all how they searched, what keywords etc and a couple of them say they use AirBnB.

If you use it how do you find it works for you?

How much do they take?

As a landlord, I don't know, but son and his GF used Air B&B in New York over New Year, and had a fantastic apartment in a block with a doorman in a really nice part of Brooklyn, balcony with Manhattan skyline views, and for a fraction of the price they would have paid for a hotel.
