Smiff
I might need to post this on the Renovations forum as well, but I have a question about no. of fosses septiques required. We have a four bedroomed house (will sleep 8) and a barn being converted into 3 gites (sleeping max. 16 but more likely 10ish). Can we get away with one large fosse or do people generally have 2 ? Any advice gratefully appreciated.
BJSLIV
Your application for a Permis De Construire will involve the planners who will specify what you need. For that size of property its likely to be a very large installation if you go for a single fosse.
Mikey
you could get a mini sewage plant that would work out cheaper that several or a larger fosse installation

We have four 3000 litre fosses, which work very well (so far!).
France Direct
Best Wishes ~ Ken Austin
www.francedirect.net
I would suggest that you go along to your Mairie and ask them. They have all the information you will need. There are EEC laws which are being heavily enforced at the moment. If you try and do it on the cheap you could find yourself having to dig it all up and do it properly, which would cost you more than doing it properly the first time. Bon chance!!
