Architects, Qualifications and DPLG

I'm looking for an architect (nothing major and somebody local). Looking through my Yellow Pages there are plenty nearby. However, some seem to have the letters DPLG after their company names (or in the description of what they do). What does this mean and is it something important ?

Basically I am just looking to get an architect to advise on the need for planning permission (and confirm what he advises in writing), plus a few things like any necessary roof strengthening, ideas, etc. Basically to pay him for a few hours work rather than undertake a project. I've done this before and local architects seem happy to turn-up, explain things and be paid for a few hours.
