Secondhand vehicles here are a lot more expensive than the UK, and tend to have much higher mileage (kms!), and have been driven quite hard usually. You would be better to look elsewhere in Europe if you want LHD (Netherlands or Spain perhaps) or buy RHD in UK - where you could get one already converted with a kitchen. Sunday Driver Posted February 14, 2009 Share Posted February 14, 2009 I suspect that a cheap van is likely to be an older one, therefore it will have a high mileage - but not necessarily driven quite hard...[;-)]Note that a van fitted with windows and a kitchen is classed as a VASP (specialist vehicle) therefore subject to a more complex and expensive approval process for importing it into in France.
