cricri
Since leaving full time employment, I am now a contractor and have lost medical and pension in France. I get paid gross from the USA and UK and just declare my salary each year to the impot. I want to register as a Micro-Entrepreneur. I'm an aircraft engineer performing inspection work on aircraft parts around Europe and cover Asia when required. The BIC/ BNC sounds ideal for me as I just provide a service and don't sell anything. Unfortunately I earn in excess of the € 33,200 upper limit. Is there a similar Micro-entrepreneur category where I provide a service and can exceed € 33,200 and still qualify for French pension and medical? Which is simple too....RegardsTerryDept
lindal1000
Not really. You'd probably have to register as an enterprise Individuel. You wouldn't necessarily be any worse off.
Chancer
Many people have mistakenly registered under the category which gives them the higher turnover limit of €82.2K and lower cotisations, an easy mistake to make and its terrible that no-one ever checks these things [I]
cricri
Many thanks for the reply Chancer. I'm just looking for the simplest and least painful way of registering as a business.
EuroTrash
The lower your overheads, the more advantageous the micro entrepreneur scheme is. If you're going to be travelling all over the world, presumably that means travel expenses and hotel expenses. Since you can't deduct anything for expenses and you pay cotisations on turnover, it doesn't sound ideal for your business model.
