Same gender civil partnerships are recognised in French law under article 515-1 of the code civil which defines a pacte civil de solidarity as "un contrat conclu par deux personnes physiques majeures, de sexe different ou de meme sexe, pour organiser leur vie commune".

As regards assurance maladie, PACS partners enjoy full 'ayant droit' rights under the code de la sécurité sociale (article L161-14) and there is no qualification within the code which excludes same gender civil partners from benefitting from those rights. On that basis, there would be no reason for the French authorities not to issue a CV/attestation with a same gender partner as the beneficiary.
