DVD burning software

Recommended Posts

I am about to import a DVD burner for my PC (and yes, I can get stonking prices in the UK so there is no need to buy in France). I am in two minds regarding the software to go with it. Can someone give me some comments on Nero. I had it once before and was not very impressed (it caused no end of problems) but it might have improved over the years. Also any other recommendations for DVD burning software.

I am going to spend a few more pennies and get a black fronted player to replace one of the CDR's in one of my PC's - I also did not realise that you can now buy them with fronts to match the colour of your PC box. I really must try to keep up with all this. Thanks in advance.

I doubt that you will save anything buying from the UK, unless you don't pay postage.

I do not like Nero though I have it installed for odd occasions when I need to burn their proprietary images. Otherwise I invariably use Prassi with 100% success but it isn't commercialised any more. I also have Alcohol 120% which is reliable though it lacks a couple of useful features.
I suppose that if I was buying new software I would probably go for Nero. You can download a free trial version.

Di

If using Win XP, you will find you can also just drag and drop to the writer (not too sure about DVD though, never tried it).  Nero is excellent these days though the writers often come with just the cut down Express version, but have found this to be just as reliable for my home needs.
