unsecure wi-fi connection

Recommended Posts

Morning all, hope someone can help.

Had a problem over the weekend with my Nuef connection, managed to get it back up and running, but it now says that the connection is unsecure, does anyone know how I can get it back to its secure state? Ive been through all of the connection options and cant find anyhing that will do it.

Cheers

Billyo

You need to set your router up first for whatever security it supports WEP/WPA etc. when you restart your PC/Laptop and try to connect it will ask for the key which you can enter accordingly.

To be a tad controversial, if you live in a remote area with no near neighbours and no one likely to be around to attempt to tap into it you could argue "why bother" [6]

You should always change the admin login info though.

Yes it is although I'm not familiar with the Neuf box so am going on my own experience with others

Have a look on the bottom of the router there may be a WEP key there - it will be a long number in the format xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx  etc

If not then you will have to invent one.
