'Free' predict the price of ADSL is to rise.

Recommended Posts

Disgracefull, and they call themselves a consumer association [:@]

At the same time all utilities etc are encouraging us to do away with paper factures.

What I hope will happen is that Free.fr will offer us the option of a paper facture but at a cost of €5 per month (cant see it being popular) then we will see if UFC Que Choisir will take on EDF etc saying that those customers who have accept no longer having a paper facture will get a reduction in abonnement.

It seems to me that Free have upset UFC-Que Choisir at some stage in the past. I have not had a paper invoice from Orange for absolutly ages, in fact I don't remember getting that many when it was Wanadoo. One of our mobiles is with SFR and we don't get a paper invoice from them either and I don't remember getting any choice.

I love reading the French comments on these articles, I liked the one about urban myth and saving trees followed by the comment that if everything goes paperless it would cause massive unemployment in the 'wood farming' industry.

Thanks for pointing that out Quillan, I clicked one of the links in the article:

As a Free.fr customer I was unaware of most of these conditions although to be fair my French was non existant when I signed up.

Pseudo political posturing, the 0.9% TV Taxe on an average "triple play" will be  € 14/annum.  UFC-Que Choisir are a bunch of **** just log on to their site and see HOW MUCH you can get without PAYING a subscription or alternatively pop down to the local Médiatheque and see how ineffably crappish are the reports in their monthly rag. The following link gives a more balanced rèsumé of the plight of Free. http://www.pcinpact.com/actu/news/56044-xavier-niel-free-hausse-tripleplay.htm
What is 'triple play", does it mean getting TV with your telephone/internet?
Yes! The iTV element only available if one has sufficient bandwidth which is rare outside a degrouped area. Quadruple play incorporates a Mobile Phone option. Orange have a version of triple Play for low band width areas using a Sat Dish for the TV and VOD. Quintuple Play still to be defined commercially but likely to incorporate sophisticated use of Local Wi-Fi net. In a non degrouped area there is a version of Double Play called ADSLNu giving ADSL + VOIP unlimited to NON Orange FAIs.

Thankyou PP

Although I am now even moe confused with all the gobbledygook that followed [;-)]

I was looking through my photos of Bolivia and Potosi recently and realised that the photo was actually not of your wife but Uncle George [;-)] although IIRC correctly the offerings were for her.

There was a good program on Arte recently where a French couple retraced the route to Potosi that they had taken in 1970, did you see it?

It will probably be rediffusée

I have recorded it on my Freebox but not being a techy I have no idea how to upload it to you even if it were possible.

I think there is a facility to copy files to the computer via the wifi link, you may know more than me PP, in any case I wont be erasing it.

I apologise, I meant to tell you at the time, if I had realised that you could watch it up to 7 days later I would have posted [:(]
