Adobe Flash Player 10

I am grasping at straws now, but does anyone have any experience with installing and running the Adobe Flash Player 10 on Windows 7 (32 bit )?

Plenty of info on the net but still no luck!

NO! Don't do it.  It is buggier than a buggy thing.  I have not installed it on any of my computers after having loads of trouble with one of the ones in work.  After do a bit of reading up on it it seems there are problems afoot especially with Vista and XP, not sure about 7 though.

Is there an alternative? Most video clips are asking to download Flash but when it is downloaded nothing runs!

Sorry, I have no idea what the Spanish bit is (if it is Spanish lol).  I stuck with the old flash player, 9 I suppose you'd call it.  It is a bit of a pain because you keep getting asked to up date every couple of days but better to decline and have a computer that works.  My wife installed flash 10 on her work pc and nothing would run so I un-installed it and went back to an older version.  I can't remember if I managed to find it on the net or from an old disk I had knocking round.  I did a bit of reading up before going back to the old flash player and it seems there are a heck of a lot of people that are having issues.  Guess as it's a free ware no one gives a toss about fixing the problems?

I've installed it on 3 machines, one XP and two Win7 64-bit machines.  Except for having to use the 32-bit IE on the Win 7 machines for the install, we've had no problems with or from FP 10.

Are you sure you used the 32-bit IE for the install?

Hers was an auto update as I assume most are.

Hi Tenniswitch,

I am interested to hear you have successfully installed and run Flash Player on Windows 7.

I am using W7(32bit) on Explorer 8.

Although I can download FP, I cannot run the program.

Any tips would most helpful.

Maybe an administration problem.

Right click on setup file and in contextual menu left click on .... open as administrator or whatever it says on the second option in the list.

Where are the files?

I have put Adobe Flash Player in the ` run ` box but no files appear!

FB is definately installed on my ` Programs and features ` list.

Default Download Folder should be My Documents. The file is called "install_ flash_ player_ax".

Is it there?

No idea, looks like never bee downloaded.

Try again...click on http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/

in window that opens click on download top right

when the download pop-up opens just click on run

and see what happens...it should do an immediate install on your PC.

Carried out Adobe Flash Player Uninstall first and then followed your instructions and FP successfully installed.

Unfortunately the situation remains the same, there is no way of running the program!

It is not a programme as such but a plugin so videos etc appear on your internet browser and working within a windows environment; when required it is automatically activated; if not an error message will be generated requesting permission to download the plugin. It is there always in the background awaiting triggering.

Your last post led me to the solution, I did not enable Plug-ins in the Internet Options facility, with plug-ins enabled the flash player now works! Except for the annoying pop-up which keeps asking to allow ActiveX and Plug-ins to run, all is well.

Are we talking FP10, or FP10.1? I have installed 10.1 today in both Win7 and Vista, both working fine!

Maybe I've been lucky, still no problems, though an IT friend of mine has said it can conflict with quite a few other programmes, maybe it's "luck of the draw" of what your running. Sorry that sounds a bit "I'm alright jack" don't mean it too!
