frenchkes
Hello all. We would like to visit a market that sells egg laying chickens. Patf
You have to ask for 'poules pondeuses'.Or buy some young ones (making sure they're femelle) and wait until they start laying. There must be many markets in dept. 24 where layers are sold.Or ask a neighbour. alittlebitfrench
'egg laying chickens' ?LOLWell that solves the 'what came first debate'.It was the egg.
frenchkes
alttlebitfrench ???It's only after reading back I realise how daft it sounds ...Thankfully no one took the pi** or noticed ?BTW it was the egg. Dinosaurs layed eggs before chickens were around ...
Patf
albf - it's not so . daft.Hoping it doesn't offend, but your 10 month old was the result of your wife's egg, fertilised by you, and eventually a human baby was born.Compris?
woolybanana
That is making a lot of assumptions, Patf, the least of which being that albf knows how babies are made. Think storks!
idun
what joy! That is how I read it too and thought the same as ALBF. I just love seeing such 'nonsense'. And if ever I had needed such beasties, probably could have written the same thing...... [:D]
Lehaut
Other than markets, in Normandie a lady used to come to our local "Point Verte" farmers shop and sell her chickens from a van once a week. She did this for years so must have been good. If you have such a shop near you you could ask there. Fish were producing eggs long before the dinosaurs started :)
pip24
Now is the wrong time to buy chickens. They can stop laying eggs when the days get shorter and colder. So to keep them laying you need extra heat and light or just leave them untill late spring when they start to lay again, again this cost you on food through the winter! Then again Christmas is coming ???). Best to get chicks in spring and get the pleasure of rearing them or buy point of lay poulets .
