chirpy
I HAVE ANELECTRIC OVEN DEDIETRICH NOW 6YEARS OLD.LAST YEAR IT WOULD SWITCH ON BUT NOT HEAT UP.THE SHOP'S ELECTRICIAN SAID THE PLATINE WAS BLOQUEE.4MONTHS LATER SAME PROBLEM 3 TIMES AGAIN.REPLACED A WICH WHICH I THINK IS A SAFETY SWITCH WHICH CUTS OUT IF ANY PROBLEM..I THINK IT IS TOO SENSITIVE AS I PRESSED IT IN AND THE OVEN WORKED O.K. FOR ANOTHER 2 DAYS.COULD POWER SURGES DO THIS?COULD I TAPE SWITCH DOWN TO STOP IT POPPING OUT?AS LONG AS IN HOUSE WHEN COOKING?
Eslier
Please do not do what you suggest !The cut out is tripping because there is a fault condition with your oven. This could cause the casing of the oven to become live and in such a circumstance it could kill you if you touched it. These cut out switches are there for a reason. You should either contact a deDeitrich authorised service centre or consider replacing the oven.
