Hi,am doing a barn conversion in the Limousin & have searched high &low for reconstituted stone,pre-cast,or anything else, suitable for building external square reveals to newly formed window & door openings in existing stone walls.I do not want to go to the trouble of reclaimed, due to cost & the amount I need,I am thinking now of building the reveals in red brickwork, but feel sure that somewhere out there, there must be something available? anyone got any ideas, or what have others used??Any tips greatly appreciated.PJ

Our house in the Vienne has that stone effect at the corners of the building, but since it was already there I can't help you as to how it is done, only that it is available! Keep searching, it looks very good![:)]

They are arround and should be easy to find at real builders merchants - Big Mat, Tout Faire Materiaux or Reseau Pro. Try

http://www.pierdor.com/facade-encadrements.html   Not quite what you were looking for

Page 82 of the 2006  Tout Faire catalogue had a set of stone illustrated as Appui de fenetre which means window sills,

" pierre reconstitué " is worth a search on google

A company in our local town, Castillonnès produces a large range of window and door cornerstones, lintels, etc. in reconstituted stone.

http://www.orsol.fr/produits/pierre_manoir.php

They are available throughout France from branches of Point P and most decent builders merchants.

If you need advice on fitting and pointing, etc, please send me a PM
