ANY POSTERS LIVE NEAR ISSIORE

Recommended Posts

Hi, We have a small house near Issoire. Brassac les mines.  We have owned the house for 3 years but dont get over there as often as we hoped and have recently put it on the market. We brought it as a shell and have completely renovated it which was fun as neither of us speak great french and had to organise most of it from the UK!  Are you going to be moving over pemanently? It is a lovely part of france and so much to do if you enjoy the outdoor life.  The people are friendly and there are a few Brits around.  There is a lovely English Tea room in Auzon which is not far from Sauxillanges, it is owned by a british couple and we always try and pop in when we are over. Did you buy the house through VEF? anyway good luck and hope all goes well for you Gail

We know Brassac very well, our friends have a holiday home in Jumeaux

and we often stay with them. We will be staying with them prior to the

completion. We have eaten in Sue & Alans (English tea room) on many

occasions, hopefully we will have time for another meal, (they are wonderful chefs).

whilst we are out there in 2 weeks time. We were looking for a house in

Brassac but at the time there was nothing suitable (in our price range). No,

we did not buy from Tracey VEF but from Arcades Immobilir Issiore, through

Anita & Brian Pickering who are agents and it has been a godsend because

our French is basic and she speaks fluent French. This will just be a holiday house

but we have also bought the renovation project next door and hopefully be able

to turn that into holiday flats because the area is perfect for fishermen, hunters, photographers

etc. Sorry to hear you are selling but quite understand, it is stupid leaving it empty for

most of the time. If you want to speak to Anita re helping you to sell I can let you know

her number. Will chat soon I hope,

Regards Denise

Winter temperatures can go from 14 to -14 in the space of three days ! Yes you will need to take clothes for very cold ,snowy weather but you may end up gardening in jeans and a tee shirt ! Ambert is a reasonable sized town not a village and it has everything in the way of shops and some very good restaurants - try La Chaumiere or Le Relais. Very, very good market on thursday morning - enjoy !

Hi Denise & Mike

We have just discovered this site thanks to a kind friend in the village who told us about mention of The River Tea Room.  Thank you, & Gail in Brassac, so much for your very kind comments and for putting us on the map.  We look forward to you becoming a more regular customer after you sign for your house and more importantly....coming to chez vous.  To anybody else who knows us and has enjoyed a culinary experience in our restaurant, please keep the comments coming and can I ask you please to also spread the word that we now have 2 en-suite double bedrooms for chambres d'hotes.  What could be better than staying at a 'restuarant with rooms' where you don't even have to drive after eating!  See you very soon,

Love from Sue & Alan
