We are considering building a patio, and have heard that this could incurr additional house tax. However we have also learnt that additional taxes may also be affected by permanent or non permanent patios, is this true?

If it is, what materials are considered tobe permanent and those non permanent?

Is this also affected by the size of the patio and if it is can the patio be sub divided to meet any size restrictions to minimize taxes?
