How do I create a link?

  • Type your post in the reply box as normal.

  • Use your mouse to highlight the text you want to appear as a clickable link.

  • Then click on the 'create link' icon above the message reply text box and enter the URL of the page you want to link to in the box (ensure the http:// is not duplicated):

The create link icon looks like a ball and chain.

Installing a Velux window is often not a problem from a consent point of view, although I suppose it depends where the house is in relation to neighbours or buildings of significant interest. However, I'm fairly sure that installing a dormer would require specific consent as it is altering the shape of the roof. Certainly worth checking at your mairie first.

Thanks, Sid. I will ask for permission. But before going that route I just wanted to get a sense of what it might cost.

The velux dormer is slightly different from a normal dormer in that it has an almost flat velux roof...if that makes sense?

If the Ball and chain button is 'live' then yes you can. If the ball and chain remains greyed out then you can't. Process is pretty much as Russet house said...you need the full address URL of the site or page you want to link to and the object word which will be your link

Highlight the word which will become your link and then hit the ball and chain button...you will be given a box which already has the http bit of the URL in.

I usually just cut and paste the whole URL from the browser at the top of the page (or from properties if it's an image I am linking to) so I delete the existing http and paste the whole address.

Hit enter

Job done.

If this doesn't work....I have included a link to a you tube article purporting to tell how to do it on an ipad (I haven't bothered watching it though....as I haven't got an i-pad and am very lazy ;-) )
