Don't talk about gaskets to me! Our pellet stove had it's yearly check etc early December. We smelt smoke shortly after - it took two visits to discover that one of the flue gaskets had been split. So far - it is still on order...importer out of stock... time of year ...etc !!!!
Order some gasket material and make your own, not rocket science more Blue Peter.

T,

You asked for some figures a while back, sorry for delay as we've been back in England for a few days.

There is actually sun today and system appears to be working, so here goes.

Collector Panel temp:    40 deg C

Panel Flow temp:            36 deg C

Panel Return temp:         23 deg C

Pump Speed:                   100%

OAT shade:                      +4 deg C

OAT sunlight:                  +8 deg C

Cylinder Mid temp:        41 deg C

Time:                                11:30

Panel Flow temp is from the gauge just before entry to hot water tank at bottom and Cylinder Mid temp is from sensor in the hot water tank itself.

Will try to get more figures later, pending the weather of course!

Johnnyboy.

More figures for anyone interested!

Collector Panel temp:    64 deg C

Panel Flow temp:            56 deg C

Panel Return temp:         39 deg C

Pump Speed:                   100%

OAT shade:                      +10.7 deg C

OAT sunlight:                  +14 deg C

Cylinder Mid temp:        56 deg C

Time:                                15:00

At least we seem to be getting some benefit now the sun is finally out to play!!

Sorry T, OAT is outside air temp, just an aviation term that I've used!

As for control of the pump speed, thats automatic through the heating system controller. I do have a sort of control by selecting permanently on or off or just leaving it on automatic,  but thats all. The system is supposed to work that all out for itself, not sure if there is any way I can get a seperate speed control installed.

Thanks johnnyboy and for OAT.  Hmm what sort of pump is it?

It maybe more complex than I think as slowing the pump may of course overheat the panel so maybe a slightly bigger heat exchanger is a better option?  If a higher tank temperature is needed then maybe not
