1.
Whilst my wife was at her evening choral on Monday, someone backed into the front of her car, the tow ball punched a hole in the number place, smashed plastic etc. The driver of the car had no paper or pencil, so knocked on a house door, asked for some and left her telphone number, address and an apology. All this at 2030, in the dark, in the pouring rain with her small daughter in the car. Contacted her the same night and now being sorted with the insurance companies. Happy ending for a change, would that happen everywhere?
I agree there are many honest folk we need a reminder sometimes great post
2. Why are you unhappy for your daughter to give a presentation of her future self Does she not have future aspirations
3. I enjoyed the first Dr Who as a child, today its rubbish as for 50 years the first one I watched was 50 years ago but it was so terrible it was dropped for years
4. It not brilliant but I have a 1918 trench map you can see it here http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=23070c41-1e86-49ce-b0aa-5fa868161b23&m=false&i=0:0:1&c=-0.127511:-0.535772:-0.380822&z=431.749815274973&d=2.32249440363578:-2.47064801438086:-2.34760637786724&p=0:0&t=False I think you need to paste the link into your browser
5. I knew a man, who as a child knew a man, who participated in the charge of the Light Brigade The quote was " I lost my horse, I lost my friends and I soiled my breeches" That was the best history lesson secondhand and back over a hundred and twenty years I have ever heard PS The story teller served both in WW1 and WW11 and was awarded the MC
6. You will be surprised the amount of dust and hair that finds it way into the back of a PC disconnect every thing and take the back off clean the case and fans with a vacuum cleaner sometimes its necessary to scrape the fan blades
7. NickP wrote However in France we do not carry original car documents only copies, they insisted on seeing all the paperwork and one Gendarme took her licence back to his car and pretended that he was checking it, what he was checking it against heaven knows? They were checking the drivers name against computer records to see if she had committed a previous offence in France The reason I will not carry originals is that if the car gets stolen then you lose the paperwork. Whats the logic in that just keep copies away from the car
8. The official items include Breathalyzers Since July 1, 2012, all drivers of land motor vehicle must have a breathalyzer in his car. Only riders (2 or 3 wheels not exceeding 50 cm ³) and drivers of vehicles already equipped with a alcolock (including drivers of passenger transport) are exempt from this requirement. The breathalyzer may be chemical or electronic driver-selectable. In two cases, it must meet the standards with which compliance is guaranteed by the NF (NF X 20702 for chemical breathalyser and NF X 20704 for electronic breathalyzers). It can be purchased in a pharmacy, a tobacconist, some supermarkets and service stations or an insurance company. This breathalyser should be readily available, not used and comply with the conditions of validity, including expiration date provided by the manufacturer. Failure to comply with this obligation is not sanctioned. But as it says they cannot fine or causion you
9. You do not need to have a fire extinguisher or breath tester also no need for GB stickers if you have a registration plate showing country of registration Whilst you mention it the car is also UNFIT for the road, if your speed cannot be measured in kilometres per hour via your car instruments

13. Most areas in France I am sure have an average temperature well below 25 degrees, even in Summer for the most part to keep a wet/damp area at this temperature must have a cost let alone the remaining 4 months when it never exceeds 9 degrees, lets forget the sub zero extended periods
14. I'm interested in the virtually next to nothing cost 365 days at 25 degrees How much is it

How did you manage back in 1999, and a couple of years back, in total we had no power for 7 weeks let alone other power cuts. " totally all-electric" me thinks a bit risky

19. I root  rose cuttings mainly in the Summer, I dont follow any rules, my method. for 40 years  is to select a piece approx 9 inches long no thicker than a pencil from recent firm growth/ branch  cut of all the leaves except the top two which reduce in size by half and put three cuttings  into a deep pot so only the top leaves are above the compost keep wet/damp in the shade and at least two will root by next year Steve
