  4. Hi, We use Chemist Direct, or Petmeds. Both have delivered to france and the UK for us, certainly for tic and flea treatment it works out much cheaper than our vet or the local pet stores in France or the UK. Mel.
  5. Hi Richard51 and MrsR 51 Thanks for all that info..............makes perfect sense so will try to confuse the little blighters !! Regards Mel.
  6. Hi, Thanks andyh4. Mel.
  7. Hi Parsnips, Thanks for the reply, it's given me some information, but I'm still unsure about how we inform the AE that we won't be "trading" in the winter, would this just be"nil" declaration on our quarterly returns ? If anyone has any Info on this point I will be really grateful. Thanks so far. Mel.
  8. Hello all, I am confused and worried about our position. We have opened up our Chambres d'Hotes tnis year and have declared this with the Mairie etc. We are just about to register with AE for the business, which will be our only income !!! Its looking good so far but suspect we will have to return to the UK after the season (end of Oct) to work there over the winter (probably until about the end of March) to earn some pennies. We do not now own a house in the UK so will be staying with relatives (what joy !!!) Heres my question (or a few of them anyway !!!)..........What do we do about the AE while we are not in France ? Do we inform them that we will only be open until October ? Do we have to "close down" the AE while we are in the UK and re-register when we get back ? Has anyone done, or is doing the same thing and how has it worked for you ? Soooooooooo many questions sooooo little time !!! Thanks for any information. Kind regards Mel.
  9. Hi Cathy, Thanks for that Info, will try your suggestion..............sounds like it comes from a very reliable source. Have a great summer. Mel.
  10. Hi, Just looking for some advice. Just bought Ivy Geraniums and Petunias from our local garden centre. (as you can probably guess from the thread title !!) Just about to plant out in our Tubs. They look healthy and "happy" at the minute. I will continue to look after them (feed, water etc.) but what's the best way to keep them flowering trhough the summer ? I've heard at some point that if you cut them back a little during the summer they will have a "second bloom" does anyone know if this is right. Or do I just cut the dead heads of as usual ? Thanks for any info. Best Wishes Mel.
  11. Hi all, Thanks for the replies, the pics are great and are just what I mean, just googled "Pollarding" and got a full explanation. Thanks for the Info, found it all very interesting. Best wishes Mel.
  12. Hi all, Can anyone tell me what these very strange kind of "Knobbly trees" I keep seeing all over our area (limousin). I don't have a photo at the minute but as there are so many of them around thought someone might get my drift ? Are they a special "type" of tree or just cut in a way as to keep them looking knobbly ? Thanks for any info. Best Wishes Mel.

    Broom

Hi, Just a quick one. We have a Broom bush that is in full flower at the minute (looks lovely) but it has outgrown its "space" in our medium sized garden, I will need to cut it back. My question is, can I do it after flowering or do I need to wait until the end of the year ? Thanks for any tips. Best wishes Mel.
  15. Hi all, Despite the debate..........it is what the French call petrole. (sorry can't find the accents). Seems to be a general concensus that it's ok to keep until later on in the year ? Thanks for the Info. Best Wishes Mel.
  16. Hi all, Don't really know what forum to put this in so here goes. We have a number of Kerosene Heaters that we have used over the winter but are now only using them occasionally as back ground heat on cold nights...............still have some fuel left un-opened. My question is this...........can I store this un-opened fuel for later in the year or does it have to go to waste ? Heard somewhere that "last years" fuel cannot be kept........does anyone know if this applies to fuel i bought earlier this year but will use at the end of the year ? Confused !!! Any info very welcome. Thanks Mel.
  17. Hi, Thanks for all that really useful information, all that you say makes perfect sense so will gladly take your advice. As you can probably guess we are new to Chambres D'hotes and this is our first year.............so steep learning curve !!!! Thanks Mel.
  18. Hi, Thanks for all the information. We have found some in Carrefour, but work out very expensive compared to on-line companies that supply..............not sure if it's possible (or even legal) to have them delivered to France as most of them are UK companies. Will have to look into that one !! Once again thanks for everyones help. Regards Mel.
  19. Hi Angel, Thank you very much for that. Fingers crossed for a great summer !! Mel.
  20. Hi, Yep, We can still get them.................especially good value from the local "shed" type places around here. (Dept 87) Eco-Gem and Entropot Depots. Good luck. Mel.
  21. Thanks Quillan. Will have look on their web site. Regards Mel.
  22. Hi Lachouette, Once again thanks for getting back, i've heard about the Limoges Metro, but not too sure what it is. Is it a "cash and Carry" type place ? Can anyone get access to it or do you need a "customer card", and if so could you let me know where it is and what I would need to do to join. Thanks again. Mel.
  23. thanks for that... i am in there all the time as well and never thought of looking there??!!??
  24. Hello, does anyone know where I can buy the individual little UHT milk pots in the Limoges area? Many Thanks, Mel
