  1. I have the Sagem and it is now back in  place. If I had researched properly I wouldn't have bought the sky+ box, but hey life's like that. Anyone want to buy a sky+ box?
  2. No. I just use the free channals but I am using a friends card which has the home package with the same message: Sky plus recording and playback are not available
  3. I have just purchased a Sky plus box and set it up replacing an ordinary Sky box. I have the two leads comming in and can recieve all the usual channals plus HD. However I am unable to use the record facility. Am I missing something or is it just not available in France?

  6. Hi all New to the gite owners club and I have recieved an enquiry for a booking in Febuary. The wording and English seems a bit suspicious and wondered if anyone has encountered  the same sort of thing. The email recieved is as follows;   Thank you for your prompt reply towards my enquiry about your apartment, but as for the price, calculate the price for my 2weeks stay and get back to me.As for the payment, am ready to make payment for the apartment , because i believe the place will be conducive and interesting for me and my wife on this our vacation period. In respect of this apartment , i have make arrangement with my business associate to make necessary payment prior to our arrival date (7th Feb. 2010) and he have agreed to do that as soon as possible in order for you to reserve that date for us and below is the necessary information for the contract agreement between us which i believe will help facilitate the renting process to avoid any delay . Here is the information details you need for the contract agreement ; Mr. .....................; (42 Years) Mrs. ...................;   (35 Years)   Address :                 Shirely                West York Shire                WA 12 1 NQ                United Kingdom Contact Phone # : Duration Of Stay :2weeks Check-in Date :  7th February 2010 Departure-Date:21th February 2010   Please, do re-confirm my booking and let me know if i will be having that date secured for me and my wife wonderful holiday vacation. I look forward to your quick response . The more I read it the more suspicious I get.
  7. Thanks for all the replies and advice. I now have a much clearer picture and can move forward with the new liner.
  8. I can understand the need for pliability and being easier to fit. I couldn't get my head around the temperature requirements as that implies that pool installers only work for 4 months of the year. As the pool is part of a holiday rental property it would mean that no pool available. What sort of timescale to replace the liner?
  9. Our pool liner needs replacing and we have been told that it will have to be done in the summer as the temperature needs to be at 20degrees. I find this difficult to believe so advise much appreciated.
  10. Hi Can anyone help us. We started a micro enterprise in 2005 and were paying contributions to various regimes including our nominated Caisse Maladie. All the percentages of our declared income were spot on except for the Caisse Maladie which imposed a minimum amount. Base Forteiture) This amounted to twice our declared earnings. For the past year, we have been trying to establish  if there is indeed a minimum as it means that we are losing a big chunk of our (small) profits. URSSAF and our pension seem to be spot on and have no base minimum so I am at a loss as to why the Maladie does this. Perhaps a more experienced micro (er) can explain this to us once and for all. Many thanks   "If at first you dont succeed - try try and try again!"
  11. Many thanks for your help. If I had given it a little thought I would have known as my neighbour went down on his tie rod end when he proposed.   Humph
  12. I have just put my old van in for a pre CT and it needs the ROTULE replacing. My translater comes up with Kneecap. Now the van is not yet on its last legs so can anyone help and tell me what it is that is.   Humph
  13. Thinking of installing  oil heating. Anyone know the current price per litre.
  14. Can anyone tell me if there is a base limit to the amount of contributions you pay as a micro enterprise? I have been asked to pay a substantial amount for pension conts and other contributions when I dont earn anywhere near their "base amount". How can this be so when I know people who earn less than me (fair enough) but because they have pleaded poverty, they dont pay for anything.  One person has even had an operation in a private French hospital and because this person says they dont earn anything, they dont have to pay. They are actually better off than I am. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out about this. Thanks
