1. They have still missed off swimming pools where fitted. Biggest consumption of energy unless I engineered it.
2. Replacing the current government would be the best move, wasting 37 billion pounds of taxpayers money on a failed test and trace system should not go un noticed.
3. I like football, keeps 1000's away from the things I like!
4. To think the EU has the temerity to ban us bringing a ham sandwich in for fear of animal welfare standards.
5. No wonder then that the recommendation is to eat vegetarian, not to save the planet but to save yourself! Bloody scary what the masters have planned for their surfs.
6. GG? I don't believe Garden Girl would be at all happy with that comment
7. It also shows food snobs that products come from the same places but some are happy to pay more in some misbelief that are getting something better. So happy I make most of my own food
8. LNB's don't last forever, especially in the heat of France. May need to buy a new one, not expensive
9. Spent £45 on wildflower mix a few years back, carefully seeded the ground as per the instructions put up interdit signs and gave instructions to the chap who cut our grass. He took down the signs and barrier tape and mowed everything down. We sacked him. So its not a battle of the sexes, just the usual stupid vs the ones who have a plan and enjoy nature and try to assist the insects and wildlife.
10. So can we agree that the human body is more complicated than simply calorific value? Diet, exercise and the type of food are all connected in our metabolic health and body make up. Calories were discoved in the mid 1800's hormones around 50 years later so the basic calories and calculated values could never have taken into account hormone production in the body and its effect on the physiology. We are not a furnace burning food, we are complex machines and different foods are dealt with in different ways depending on which hormones are triggered. Eating the wrong foods early on can damage the bodies ability to perform properly so it makes it very hard to correct the situation as was shown in that documentry. Without exercise the metabolism slows which will also have an effect on the bodies ability to function. Then we have a persons genetics, some people who are thin can be fat on the inside, visceral fat, deemed more dangerous. Muscular people who accumulate dense muscle (5× denser than fat) so could be seen as having a high BMI but are fit and strong. Body builders on the other hand loose muscle and return to their genetic shape without intense exercise and protein intake plus carbohydrates to fuel the muscle. Our metabolism slows as we age so taking regular exercise to keep things moving is important as is reducing sugars to control insulin also to aid digestion To loose weight you still have to be in a calorie deficit even if you are not eating carbs/sugar, such as the ketogenic diet, I get my fuel from primarily fat and some protein and less than 30grams of carbohydrates. Eating the ketogenic diet has stopped food cravings and therefore over eating, over sweetened food is actually pretty unpalatable. A quite easy to understand link below. https://www.leighannscottmd.com/bioidentical-hormones/hormonal-imbalances-affect-weight-loss/
11. Step away from the chocolate Mint. Hahaha
12. Sadly it is the medical community who are confused, whilst a calorie is a measure of energy it is obtained by setting fire to something to gain its calorific value. Unfortunately our bodies do not set fire to it, food is digested, metabolised and therfore a completely different string of events occur. Finally these events are being looked at which is why your simplistic explanation is not good.
13. Just think if the solution was as simple as Ken suggests all research can stop, simply no need to understand that not all calories are the same. The fact and it is a well documented fact that the the same calorific value from different foods has a different effect on the body and something that is exploited by food companies to keep you grazing on snacks etc that you have no idea why you keep craving. Calories from a different source fill you up and reduce the cravings.
14. Hi Mint, I am well but missing France. Hope you are well also.
15. With the clear line of sight to KFC's cookers, its deep fried in conventional deep fat friers as far as I can see. It is marinated in butter milk before coating my nephew informed me, he worked in one whilst studying.

17.
Given the fragility of electronic tech in cars I doubt it will work for long, necessitating expensive repairs for drivers.
Leaving aside the BS spoken by garagistes in order to facilitate another sale of parts, the electronics are far more stable in general than the mechanical parts.
18. Had 3 so far, whilst uncomfortable, soon over and nothing more.
19. Pretty much the same as if Macron was re elected.
