We have a — very — small chambres d'hotes in the Tarn et Garonne. Twice in recent months we have received emails, from an Italian email address, but different names, asking to book a room long-term — once for a family, once for a couple. The upshot of the request is that they want to pay for the accommodation direct to our bank so, of course, want bank account details. Suspicious people that we are, we have replied we can only accept cash or a cheque and have heard no more. Has anyone else received this sort of email? Difficult to believe it is genuine — this is not a winter holiday area, for one thing, and surely if you were staying two months, you would get a gite. Let us know if anyone has received anything similar.
