1. Sounds like a good idea John...........
2. I went shopping yesterday. (We've got two cars), and it doesn't matter what car I decide to take it is ALWAYS on the red and needs filling up!!!! Of course, I've mentioned to my husband more than ONCE! Which officially makes me a whinger!!! I always fill the car up a little bit when I go out to keep it topped up! This is one of my biggest pet hates.....!!!!!!!! Don't get me started on the rest!! What's yours????????
3. Yes, Val is right Lou. I never got my photo's signed. It's only if you've drastically changed in the last ten years and apart from a wrinkle or two, I was fine!
4. More or less everyone seems to be very happy with the service and so I'm I. That is, how quick it was processed and returned back to me! But it still doesn't excuse charging 160.00€ for a passport which is nearly double the price of an English one!!!
5. It's just useful to have just in case of an emergency and have to go back to England!
6. Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Just received my passport.........
7. I received my old passport back today! The man that delivered it said that I would receive my new passport back sometime next week.
8. Are they putting the price up weekly? Seems like that!
9. I checked my bank account today and the money has been taken out! It was supposed to be 180.00€, but they have actually taken 185.00€ Just wondering what the 5.00€ was for?????? Any idea's?
10. That's the same with our French friends as well, Sweet!
11. Sorry! I was just comparing the price for renewing a English passport compared to what a French person what pay to renew theirs.
12. Yes, I must admit, I felt rather uncomfortable whilst I was filling out my details on that form! That's why I sent mine by SD.
13. Chocolate is derived from cocoa beans. Bean = vegetable. Sugar is derived from either sugar CANE or sugar BEETS. Both are plants, which places them in the vegetable category. Thus, chocolate is a vegetable. The problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car. The solution: Eat it in the parking lot. Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite, and you'll eat less. Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done. If not for chocolate, there would be no need for control top pantyhose. An entire garment industry would be devastated. You can't let that happen, can you?
14. Thanks for the link Norman. It was very interesting to read through. Not just a few Euro's difference with the cost then!!! It works out 74.00€ cheaper to get a passport renewed in France! Outrageous!!!!
15. Hi sweet 17, I filled in a C1 form. Had two photo's done (The machine at Le'Clerc. Cost 4.00€ for 4 photo's) I haven't dramatically changed since last passport so no one (As far as I know!) had to certify the likeness. Printed off the debit/credit card payment form and filled that out and put everything into an envelope and sent it off with my old passport. From what I read on their web site it was not necessary to send any other documents. Hope this helps.
16. It's nice to know that I wasn't the only one who found their website not the easiest to retrieve information! I don't know about anybody else but I found their photo information complicated.....
17.
Is there any way of renewing in the UK without going there? I was thinking of sending the applications and old passports to be returned to my daughter's address, then she could bring them when she visits. Would that work?
Now there's a thought! I wonder if it's possible too.
18. Charming! When I first moved to France (11 years ago), the British Embassy in Paris were really helpful. They just don't seem to want to know now!
19. Well done Suninfrance! Happy ending are the best.
20. I hope so......... I sent it off this morning so will let everyone know how long it took when I receive it.
21. Yes your right, there has been a big difference in price for a number of years, but because the Euro and pound are near enough the same value it really is a big difference, if you get my meaning!! Also I had to ring up as I was unsure of something and wanted to double check my inquiry. You have to call a center called "Careline", and you have to pay for it!!! I was only on the phone for about 3 minutes and a couple of days later when I checked my bank account they had taken out 7.86€!!
22. Well I'm sending mine off tomorrow so I will let you know what the service is like. Hope it's as quick and simple as yours....
23. Can't believe how much it is to renew a passport compared to the U.K. I've just filled in my form today and it's 185.00€ for an adult (inc p&p)! And 127.00€ for a child! Unfortunately I have to renew 5 passports! 2 adults and three children...
24. Very sick and very sad. Most of the stories that you read in the papers or hear on the news are very frightening.
