  1. Good News! Apache has now got a home to go to, but sadly, I have been unable to find homes for any of the others, so I will be contacting the SPA to try and find a rescue facility for them. [:(]
  2. I will be with the puppies on Thursday at Huelgoat market (after 09.30). Opposite the Hotel de Lac in the car park if anyone would like to see them. They will not be ready for collection for another couple of weeks, but you will be able to get a good idea of just how lovely they are.
  3. Russethouse, no unfortunately we are awaiting 'the powers that be' to sort out a paper trail a mile long to clear up an error I wont go into on this forum. However, when that is sorted and we are back on our feet, we will, indeed be spaying any of the animals we decide to keep (if any, considering our current situation). We would hate to give up our beloved dog, as she has been with us since we moved into our house 3 years ago, but it is likely we will have to look carefully at re-homing all of our pets if things don't improve soon [:'(]
  4. I thank you again and apologise for repeating myself (Puppies and Kittens) but see my comments on the kittens post. As for separating mum, i tried yesterday by making her a bed at the top of the stairs, where she remained dozing and very content for all of an hour, before the little tykes managed to climb the stairs. She now has a room of her own (tv and video included) and seems very happy now. The puppies, too are settling in to playing amongst themselves. I have also increased their food intake so they are not so eager to rush to her when they get hungry. Advice is hugely appreciated, and I thank you for making this step so much easier.
  5.  Thank you for these words, I have dealt with a lot of critisism on this issue. My partner and I rescued a couple of cats, and then circumstances changed and we both lost our jobs, so were unable to carry out the plan of spaying three cats and the puppy (we found her by the dustbin when she was just 8 weeks old!) None of the puppies or kittens that were produced were planned and we did not intend to destroy any of them once they were born (humanely or otherwise, and I have heard of some ghastly methods). We are now very unhappy that we cannot possibly care for a total of 8 cats and 11 dogs!! I will do whatever it takes to ensure that they are homed with people who will care for them, and, if all else fails, I will have to consider taking them to my local rescue centre, which I didn't want to do as they have not been abused or abandoned. Your advice has made me think twice though, I would hate to be the cause of even more unwanted and rejected animals in the future.
  6. Hi Chrissie, Yes puppies need to be at least 10 weeks old before being removed from mum and placed with new owners, however, I am keen to ensure that the potential owners are going to be kind and loving and this can take time, so I need to know soon. These pups are weened and mum is getting quite cross with them now, as they are still happy to feed from her. They will be ten weeks old in three weeks (21st June), so perhaps not ready by 11th, as stated. I would also like to organise the adoptions on a staggered basis, so all the pups don't disappear all at once. This can also take time, and as I have other animals to care for, I am quite keen to get started.
  7. Hi Chrissie, yes traditionally kittens have always been considered 'ready' at 12 weeks old, but are independent and ready to leave mum at 8 weeks, which these kittens will be on Monday  (30th June). I'm afraid I am quite keen to home them, as a potential adoption has fallen through and I have other animals that need my attention now.
  8. There have been 140 viewings of this post but I have not yet had any emails in response. As I have 10 of these puppies (6 available) I need to home them so if you are interested please contact me. Thank you
