1. Lets put this way, those people that wish to drive around on U.K. plates in France With no road tax or test form(and there is a lot that do) let them get on with it.

The gendarmes and the municipal police are not as daft as these brits think.

So when they get stopped and cry.

      TANT PIS,

After a month or so of complaints over the need to sign on again at regular intervals, the problem persists.

Coupled with a speed of response which regularly sends me to sleep, it has to be said that nobody appears to be listening.  Just seen a 'pop-up' advert saying "Need a holiday??"  Sure do, after messing around on here.

So, (and at the risk of shouting):

WHEN IS SOMEONE GOING TO SORT IT OUT?

Could be happaning for a reason,

    Think about it

I have seen it on other sites.

  4.
Yes, I can see why you would say that, but we aren't looking for a new build and know we aren't going to find a house that doesn't need any work at all (the above needs a lick of paint too). I'm trying to establish whether this one is worth considering as geographically it suits us very well.
Is this to be a second home?

The reason for the question is that you talk geographically it suits you.

So it seems place more then house.

I'm trying to book a flight on Ryanair, but the site stops working as soon as I hit the " confirmer" key, the next pâge is just blank..

Has anyone experienced this too this morning or is it me ?? [blink]

    Hi

You'd probably get a much better euro rate from an online exchange broker such as Hifx or Travelex (especially for considerable sums) rather than using your bank, and they all transfer the money on to your french account without charge.  I'm with Axa Banque and they make no charges for receiving euro funds in this way.  The whole process takes only 3-4 working days.

This is the way to do it.have been with HIFX for years no problems.

And if you do get a bank charge they will refund you.

And as said 3 to 4 working days bank to bank.

When I fly Ryanair I go from Liverpool to either Limoges or Bergerac.

It is the airport security that maintain the one bag rule, I have a small trolley cabin bag and a hand bag. I am always made to put the smaller one inside the other,

But after I get past security I take it out so I have access to my personal things.

I then tend to buy all sorts of things in the duty free area such as books, sweets, magazines etc. and I usually have another bag to put them in.

When I actually board I have three items of hand luggage!

I have never been challenged by Ryanair staff, I actually think it is the airport that control the hand luggage, Why would they have all those shops post control side if you were not allowed to take the stuff aboard!

Hope all passengers or not the same,or prices will rise again,to cover hidden costs.

We would like to change our Regime Matrimoniale [we are shortly to buy a new house] and called one of the local avocats.

We were quoted a horrendous 1000 euros hors taxes. Surely this is excessive?

Would anyone who has done this recently please advise what they paid. TIA
Two years ago we paid 850 eur.

If it good for you both you have to pay.

  9.
Proving that I may be as green as I am cabbage looking, I have a question... If you had viewed a refurbished stone-built fermette that (aesthetics aside) had a modern tiled floor, which is not completely level i.e. the joists are uneven and in places rise and fall - would you be concerned? Thanks Anne
Concerned about the age of the place. or the way it has be refurbished.

You say it is stone built so that tells you a lot.

    No.. Geoff, I'm still trying..............

I rang the airport, a lady gave me two numbers, I called, no one answered..

Do you think I'd better swim across the Channel and walk? Maybe it would be quicker .....

Yes, I'm getting sarcastic because I'm upset now..

    Thanks a lot for asking......
