1. Rabbie said ' But whose granny can spit furthest '   I wouldn’t know. It’s not the sort of thing I care to measure.

  3. Have a look at this: http://www.dwp.gov.uk/eservice/need.asp   Edit: Missed it earlier, sorry I see on your OP you have. Try using a 32 bit software, the gov site may not have advanced to 64 yet.
  4. But he is slumming it with his A330, this has only 2 engines, Mr O’s Air force One has 4!

    Dog food and meds

No? You must all feed your dogs on dried food, what  boring mealtimes for them.
  7. This may help   http://tlt.its.psu.edu/suggestions/international/accents/codealt.html     If on word you select insert/symbol and after choosing the required symbol, keep clicking insert and you should get a line of them ʕʕʕ. (cannot find the exact same symbol on mine) If you have double spacing, click show/hide  (Ctrl +*) this should show what’s causing this unwanted spacing.
  8. According to ‘Which’ do not buy travel insurance from a high street travel agent. From my experience, they are all poor at paying out reasonable claims. Sorry I cannot recommend one, but do please check the small print, there are some ridiculous conditions on some policies. Enjoy your visit.
  9.

...also apparently the island of  Aland in the Baltic, given up trying to get an ° on top of the A.
Å = Alt0197, or via the character map in Windows (under 'system tools' for some reason, or you can use one of the Scandinavian Lexibars (Danish in this case, though the character is also available in the Norwegian and Swedish versions).
In fact in the post I mentioned trying and giving up. But no doubt with a knowledge of fonts you will be able to inform me the exact way to get an Å in my posts whilst using a netbook without a number pad. Contrary to your indications the pressing of Alt+Maj+ "a number" does not result for me on my netbook in an Å. Whilst travelling across the Baltic from sweden to finland and stopping in Maarianhamina on the island of Åland the crew of the ship have assured me that I was in finland; so just slightly puzzled as to the use of a danish lexibar. Perhaps although being finnish territory a swedish lexibar might be more appropriate seeing as swedish is the official language.[:)]
PPP, you must press the Number lock ( looks like a padlock) on your keyboard to enable Windows Alt codes.

    Dog food and meds

I normally buy Butcher’s Superior and Winalot Classics in the UK but I am not familiar with most brands listed on Zooplus etc. Any recommendations for a good complete wet dog food such as Arden Grange or Yarrah please?
  12. Congratulations Richard.   When is the BIG day?

  14.
You live near the producers, so yes, take advantage. Proximity didn't work in our favour either as the vin de savoie, was on our doorstep,  but we never got that 'cheap' either[:-))]
My next door neighbour, a farmer came to me crying his eyes out last year clutching a weed saying all his 70,000 cabbages had a disease of some sort. All this came about after his cows ran amok in my garden and he thought I was going to claim damages, I didn’t. The end result? He harvested all of his very healthy 70,000 cabbages and gave me zero for the damage his cows caused. I'm waiting for the next time the cows pop over, a nice steak perhaps!
  15. Whatever his religion he is still a murderer. Determining his beliefs may help in more close monitoring of these people, but then the human rights brigade would kick up. Like the UK, Norway wants to expel known problems, e.g. Mr.Mullah Krekar but he won’t be deported for fear of execution or torture by his own country. If they are a threat to our countries - get rid of them! I’m a firm believer in putting the hammer down very firmly. The west has to get tougher and for confirmed cases of guilt, bring back the rope, no doubt you pacifists will call this uncivilised but I say get up to date with survival. When these fanatics are released from jail, they will be hell bent on revenge, Where are my ear defenders, the HR drums are beating. This thread has swayed towards religion, looking at the history of the world, aren’t most wars the cause of it?
  16. Return to my previous residence.[:(]
  17.
Lol that would be fun to see... apart from the fact you wouldn't know where I was as the line is impossible to see and I could be 5k away. With cross winds it is not at all obvious where the flier is. Most people that see the kite think it is radio controlled. Should you manage to find me the cotton has a breaking strain of 3lbs and the bamboo is 4mmx3mm and can be easily snapped by hand, the paper sail won't do much damage either. I suppose you could wrap 5k of line around my neck but I doubt I would stick around that long. Targeting boats is fun leaving a kite flying from the mast - it could become a sport seeing how many you could attach to a boat.
Frederick We can bring down Dog’s kites no problem; I’ll come out with you with my gun. More fun than shooting at clay pigeons and Dog will soon run out of kites.
  18. You can’t refer to him as an extremist.               He’s a maniac

    Breast MRI
Well I had this done on Monday but since Tuesday have had pain in the top of my arm.  The cannular was put in my wrist so it's not near the site of that.  The pain is from my elbow to shoulder.  Very odd. Does this sound right??? Suey
I wouldn't worry too much, probably the way you were laying on the m/c . Good luck for tomorrow.
  21.
It must be wonderful to have 20/20 hindsight. It must also be wonderful to not have to take life threatening decisions. However you appear to have appointed yourself a one man judge and jury despite other judges and juries having found the person in question non culpable.
To whom and what are you referring to exactly?[8-)]
  22. Judith, I’m on your side. If he did have a bomb and killed innocent people, there would always be ‘do-gooders’ to complain about slow acting police. Put yourselves at the scene, I have been very close to one of these exploding bombs and seen the devastating results , arms, legs and bits everywhere-you’re one of the lucky ones, you hopefully have escaped without injury, perhaps a little deafness and certainly very frightened -  my guess is you have not experienced anything like it! Why are you ranting about the police? They are trying to do their job but their hands are tied by too much red tape.  Some of them ‘jump the gun’ but it’s a thankless task at the end of the day: some people are never satisfied, they want security, but at the right price. That’s not life, its fantasy.  The family of this fugitive running away from the police (wrong place, wrong time) did not accept the compensation offered, not enough? Well, the tax payer can afford it. I am just wondering how much the Mau Mau are going to demand after their stay in a British ‘camp’ in Kenya?   Move to Syria and see what you can complain about there!
  23.
Old fashioned these days? As in it doesnt happen these days or there is a better more recnt word in the English language for it? If its the latter can you tell me what it is as my English vocab is failing by the day.
Oh it happens all right as we all too well know. ‘Bully’ these days is not a strong enough description, how about terrorizer?
  24.
What is the proper description  of  bully in english? to torment? to intimidate?   Both are french words too. I've just looked this up and found 'brimer' which seems to cover it too, although I cannot remember hearing that. When my kids were at school I'd hear problems being described as  'racket' and 'violence' more than anything else.   I've hit a brick wall with this now. Sometimes I find the french word works beautifully when I cannot find the right word in english, but that is probably my lack of vocabularly, peut-etre ou surement?[Www]
Idun, ‘bully’ is bit old fashioned these days, just think of the good old days of Bully Beef!
