  2. Not deductible against income tax, but deductible against taxable income. A very big difference. The benefit of the deduction is very small. Unless of course you pay tax at top rate,

  3. Not sure your right on UK income. It is earned when it arrives in the bank. eg you do not declare accrued interest as an individual.

  4. Just a sugestion if you have not already tried. Maybe the mutuelle can advise you as it should be standard.

  5. You can unilaterly adjust the acompte if you wish, just by adjusting the payment. But if you are shown eventually to have under estimated by, i think, more than 10% you will pay penaltlies for effective late payment. You can also increase the acompte if you wish for whatever reason. The Fisc will be most grateful.

  6. Horray you received your tax bill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Masochist or wot?

Not got mine, don't want it either. The longer it takes to arrive the more time before I have to pay.

Think I must live on a different planet.

  7. URSSAF are notoriously slow to set things up. It took them nearly a year in my case. I just waited for them to bill me, as I had the Carte V and was being reimbursed. Eventually they got there.

  8. Part of the 13.5% you are paying on the annuity is C.S.G (8.2%). The credit you are seeing against next years income relates to the the prior year CSG. It is equal to 5.8% of the icome which suffered a CSG charge.

  10. You might try the Free mobile offering which is cancelable at any time. Its €20 a month, unlimited calls to fixed and mobiles in France, unlimited calls to 23 European countries fixed lines, plus sms I can't remember.

  11. Advance rentals are illegal. The way I got round these issues was to pay 9-12 months rental into a bank account and get a bank garantee. Naturally the bank charges for the service. Mutuals should be cheaper.

Strangely most immos did not suggest this, they just refused to consider me. It was only when I fell on an old pro the solution was suggested. The best immos to talk to are those that specialise in rentals.

  12. Yes. I used PKF Guernsey. You need to ask the right questions, and there is a price. But it was a very good base line to move forward from. Plus they do not sell anything for commission.JFB

  13. Sounds like the UK in the late 60's early 70's. It eventually imploded and sorted itself. Same will happen here I expect eventually.

It does not affect me this year but will next so I have been looking at it. My expectation as a CMU-B payer is that on making my declaration next year I will be assessed to Soc Sec charges at 6.6% on pension income payable with the investment CSG bill, and will in the subsequent declaration be able to offset against taxable income 4.2% of pensions aswell as 5.8% of prior years investment income.

However that could all change if El Pres rolls up CSG into income tax as promised. What that will mean for S1 holders heaven only knows, but almost certainly a bigger bill as it never goes down.

    Hope that helps

  15. It looks almost exactly like a Karcher. Including the bits and bobs. So is almost certainly a Karcher in disguise. You can buy the Karcher from Amazon Fr at 98.99. So Lidls version saves you a some €.

  16. If it was a small enough amount it would have been cancelled by the decote. Sums below a certain amount, can't remember how much, are not collected.

  17. I made an offer the 30/3 which was accepted. Not been asked to sign a compromis yet.

  18. Way back when i took driving lessons in both London and Paris over the same period, don't ask why, and i remember that was one of the differences, Handbrake UK, clutch Paris. Helped for making a quick get away at lights.

Unfortunately my prescription is quite strong. So to get decent variable focus lenses with a decent field of vision at all levels and reduced thickness i find it better to pay for the higher quality lenses with the protective finishes. Once you take into account the small CPAM reimbursement and the larger mutuelle contribution, France worked out cheaper just.

As for quality, Varilux one of the higher end brands is part of Essilor a French co.n You do have to be careful as the chains like Alain Affelou pushe cheaper brands like Hoya. Nothing wrong with them as long as your prescription is middle to low range. I found the same to be true of the UK chains like Specsavers.

One astuce is the frames. This time when choosing a rimless whose price made me wince, i noticed that the type i wanted had a childrens version at half the price. As I couldn't see any diference and it came in the larger sizes, I took that. The optician took a little persuading is all.

I had a test in the UK but took the prescription to a french optician. CPAM and mutuelle paid their bit for the glasses but of course not the uk prescription. Fair enuf.

  21. Looked for the same thing. Only found one or two and very expensive, De Deitricht I think. Interestingly if you look at the AEG France site they do not have them, but they are on the AEG UK site. Go figure!

  22. Perhaps u should read the original post: he/she was asked for the Liasse Fiscale with annex 8 not  just annex 8. The liasse Fiscale is both the balance sheet and the profit and loss.

Or maybe my understanding of English has atrophied after being here.

    JFB

  23. No it is not. THe Liasse Fiscale is the annual return companies complete. Copies go to among others Tax autority and registre du commerce. It comprises both Balance sheet - Bilan, Profit and Loss - Compte de resultat, and has various supplementary sheets ofv which annex 8 must be one. Sorry its a fair while since I last completed one so can't remember the annexes. Suggest you ask your accountant for a copy of the info.
