  1. Hi , We have bought a left hand drive fiesta in england with French plates on it but all we have is a bill of sale from the supplier. Its come from ebay and was a damaged repairable. All ligit. We are very confused on how to make this car legal. We would like to drive it to France and leave it at our house for when we visit. Is the best way to register it in England first and get all the paperwork then re-register it in France or try and get it registered in France. Is it possible to do any of the work over the internet. Hears hoping Amanda
  2. Hi everyone, We have a house in Mussidan 1/2 north of Bergerac which is stuck in a 1970's timewarp. We need a reliable builder/plaster to sort house out. 4 beds /2 lounges/dining room/ Kitchen/ Bathroom/Hall. We want all the walls plastered, pipes put into walls(have had central heating fitted and the pipes run like a race track ) and ceilings sorted. The French builder we have used for a few bits wants to insulate the walls with 8cm thick plasterboard and cannot understand that we just want to skim over the walls. Also he does not turn up until we are due to return to France. Any recommendations would be gratefully received. I would prefer someone who can speak English as my French is getting there but its still English French   Email address is [email protected]  (Browser wont let me access the one on here) Regards Amanda

  7. Thanks for that . I just thought it was expensive because he told me it would only take a day. And £350.00 a day seems a lot for a tiler in England. But when in France !   Amanda
  8. I have a house in Mussidan 1/2 North or Bergerac(24) that needs some work ! Not much by French standards But by mine I have been quoted by a French Man 500 euros to tile a 10sq mtr floor and 4 sq mtrs on a kitchen wall . Can someone tell me if this is as expensive as it seems. I would like to find someone man or woman who could do the job for a more reasonable price. If I find the right person there is walls to plaster in 8 rooms and a small bathroom , large bathroom and toilet to tile as well. My email is [email protected]. My husband will be over in a couple of weeks but we have some dutch friends who could show anyone the house if need be.(they speak good English) I live in hope Best regards   Amanda

  12. Hi Just as a rough costing , we are having central heating installed at the monent by a French Plumber. For 12 Rads and a huge boiler with a big tank (you can tell  I am a girl and I dont have a clue about sizes ) It has cost 9800 Euro. Which we didnt think was too bad. We are lucky though we will be on town gas. A lot of piping is needed as well , we have a house with 3 bedrooms and an appartment upstairs as well , so quite large by uk standards. And Don is quite right it does get b##### cold , was over at Christmas and nearly froze to death, electric rads were no good . Amanda
