  1. Thanks all for your comments, guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed & wait & see if I get presented with a bill from La Poste on delivery!!! I imagined they must just pick out some  parcels to check at random.
  2. Thanks for that Stan, I know with the likes of UPS, DHL etc you pay them first but just wondered how it works with ordinary Postal service, do goods get delivered as normal then if theres a Doane bill they send it or do La Post collect it from you on delivery??? Really not sure.
  3. Hi, does anyone have any experience of buying clothing over the internet from the USA to be shipped by USPS normal postal service  & the customs payment if the parcel gets stopped by the Douane, do the Douane normally send a bill or do you pay La Poste on delivery??? Not sure what the standard procedure is, I just know it seems to be pot-luck on anything getting checked but I did read somewhere that the Douane have tightened up a bit??? Anybody any experience of it??
  4. All sorted now thanks to advise from LeBricoleur, just some sort of crazy TL2 behaviour not recognising my seller account I think. Many thanks for the replies every-one. Now all I need to do is start selling a few more things & don't think thats very likely at the mo with the crazy low prices in the UK summer sales that I keep hearing about!! Oh well, plod on. 5. Thanks Russethouse & Lebricoleur  for your replies & suggestions.  My eBay  username is set fine in Turbo lister & as you say I was asked for these when I installed TL2. Got firewall etc, also automatic updates (XP). Have never ever logged in to eBay or Paypal from an e-mail link for account update. This is the reply I received from eBay customer service “As promised on the phone (my apologies for the delay) - I have consulted the issue with my product specialist and the advice is to uninstall / reinstall the Turbo Lister software. After that try to upload your  listings again. I also tried to google the issue (I found your question on eBay answercentre forum :) but there is no answer. Generally - the code should be generated when you create your seller's account - for UK it is 4 digit code for all around the world' 6 digit code.  If the problem still persists (after reinstalling TL) - would you mind  to answer this email? It will be delivered to my colleagues, in the  meantime I will try to find more details about that issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Kind regards”, I have replied telling them that I’ve uninstalled & re-installed numerous times & still the same, & have heard nothing from them since. It did make me smile that he had googled it. I only created my sellers account a couple of weeks ago & don’t remember a code being generated. I have since spent hours listing my items directly on to eBay, but I would much prefer to be able to use Turbo Lister so any more suggestions would be most welcome. Many thanks. Labruyere53.
  6. Anybody use Turbo Lister 2 to put their items on eBay??? Looking for info/help. I have just started selling on eBay & spent hours yesterday making an inventory of  my items 4 sale using Turbo Lister 2 for eBay, all fine till I tried to upload it to eBay & all I keep getting is error message "enter a 6 digit numeric pin code" I haven't got a pin code & can't find a solution. Any ideas??? I have uninstalled & re-installed numerous times but still the same. Have asked on their answer & discussion pages but no replies, spoke to eBay on the phone & e-mailed....they are supposed to be getting back to me but I'm not holding my breath. Any advice gratefully received, thanks.
  7. Take a look here, they are a good crowd. http://www.bikeclubfrance.com/
  8. Can any Ebay experts out there advice me please??? My Paypal account is registered here with my French bank account on it but I want to add my UK bank account to make payments from as well. I cannot find a way to do it as it comes up with add an account in France. Have also tried to add my UK Nat West (Maestro) debit card as a payment method but maestro doesn't show as an option, only Matercard & Visa.  What do I need to do, register another Paypal account with a UK address???? Any advice appreciated please either via this forum or PM, I don't mind. Thank-you.
  9. Coop thanks for your reply on your experience of buying from the USA, does seem to be a bit of a lottery. From what I can make out I think I'm right in saying that items of clothing ( if they get stopped by customs) are liable to 12% import duty + 17.5% VAT. But it also said items under £18 in value get no charges, not clear though if that is total parcel value over £18 or per item, maybe somebody out there knows???? As for the OP saying use a UK Ebay account & address, thats all very well but then surely you would then need to send any items you are selling to the UK address first to get posted on from there otherwise buyers would then know it wasn't posted from UK.  Too complicated, my intention is like sid to sell on Ebay UK using my address here in France, can't see that would put UK buyers off especially as the ad will be in English not French. 10. Can any seasoned Ebay sellers tell me if you ever buy items from the USA to sell on Ebay France or UK please????  I am looking at the possibility of purchasing T-shirts from the states, not designer sports names, just fashion items as there seems a really good & different choice available, but need some advice on what to expect to pay by way of import duty & tax. From what I can find out so far it is better to use USPS rather than UPS or other carrier companies because of their high handling charges, but am unsure what the charges are for import duty & tax by customs. Any knowledge/advice would be welcome. Thank-you. Labruyere.
