1.
can anyone in plain english tell me the wuick way to check and tune in a free to air box i have just purchased, its a philips free to air box and i installed a new digital aerial in loft and brought a tnt tele, turned it all on but it says no signal. If i plug the aerial straight into back of tv i do get some channels but poor picture evan if moving aerial.
I read on another thread, that there is no such thing as a digital aerial, it looks like you have wasted your money on the box and aerial, get an outdoor aerial fitted and plug it straight into your TV, if your area is capable of receiving the signal.
2. "What is also curious is that the date has been set for 1 October which is rather a long way away and I had subconsciously pushed the whole ghastly incident to the back of my mind and had hoped that all had been settled, monies paid over and it only remains for me to see what excess I would be expected to pay." Your Franchise, should be as set down in your insurance policy.
3.
[: Should we ever wish to sell, it will obviously greatly devalue our property.  Does anyone know if there are any rules regarding the upkeep of the appearance of property in a heritage village? Many thanks.
I don't see why, it didn't stop you from buying the land to build on[:D]
4. I think I have found  a solution to my problem. I have just remembered that the parent company of TeleRabais, is TeleSoldes and with those you only have to enter 4 digits, then the UK number, so this will fit in the phone book allowance of 24 digits. Thanks
5. Can someone that uses “TeleRabais”, with a current model “Dect” type cordless phone give me a model number? One that you can select and dial the “TeleRabais” number stored in the memory and then once connected, select and dial the second number stored in the memory. I used to do this with my old Alcatel phone, but I have not found a recent model one that can do this. The ones that I have seen and tried, after auto dialling the “TeleRabais” number the phonebook is locked, not allowing access to the next number, I can enter this 2nd number manually, but entering 14 digits each time, seems to be going back to the dark ages. Also the phonebook entries only allow a maximum of 24 digits, not enough to enter the “TeleRabais” number 10 digits, at least one space or pause, and then the UK codes and number, 14 digits. I would prefer one with an answer machine and an extra 2 handsets. I hope that I have explained it well enough, for a response. Thanks. Sorry about the formating at the begining, I can't get rid of it.
6. Or appears to connect you, to the official sites.[:P]
7. It was along time ago but i did post this. http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/544900/ShowPost.aspx
8. I don't know if this has been mentioned before. If you purchased a Sky FTV card after 1st May 2006 you are entitled to a free replacement card. You can check on the site below if you are eligible, if not, you can buy a new FTV card for £20, but it must be registered and sent to a UK address. https://mysky.sky.com/replacecard/get-a-card
9. Forget it and dump it, I had the same problem and it was impossible to find the leak, I suspect it was porous.  I could never find the leak.
10. "Oy cheeky!  copyright laws!" Not quite, this time the punctuation was correct, "I,m here in France" is copyright.[:D]

12. Only if the other half goes first. Go and see a notaire and see which marriage regime would suit your circumstances, if you haven't already got that sorted, and then make your will.
13. "Are they registered? Can you check it out? If not, why not?" The answer is yes, you can check it out, and if they are not registered, then don't employ them. Why did you?
14. If you click on "I have lost my password", does it not give you a link to access the site and then change your password?
15. Seems OK to me, provided your car insurance covers you for towing a caravan, it's what lot's of  UK residents with holiday homes do.
16. A night out on the tiles will never be the same again.
17. It maybe very difficult to find out that kind of info, you would need to ask the previous occupier, or if you have details of the tradesman that did the work with dates, try to claim on his 10 year guarantee.
18.

It sound similar to our recent problems regarding incipient failure of our livebox due to (I believe) lack of synchronisation. Try ringing ......English tech line 0800 364775 They were very efficient with our problem.
Thanks for the info., I shall try them in the morning (presumably it doesn't function on a Sunday?) 20.
I think he will be a British citizen resident in France............................JR
Also. Without an "E" form  he/she will need to provide proof of health insurance to be legally resident, and continue to do so, until he/she is eligible for an "E" form or have 5 years legal residency which ever comes first.
21. "yes it's been about ten days now when we are inundated with house flies. I had thought it was cluster fly but these flies are outside the house (in the grass) and are trying to get in the house." If these flies are in the grass, then I would have thought that they were cluster flies.
22. If you have not yet made contact, my advice would be to open a new email account, with gmail or the like, just for getting the quotes. Then close the account when you are finished. Otherwise you will get spam mail from them, even if you say no to receiving emails from them and selected companies.
