1. From the FAQ's on the same site. You will still pay a small percentage of the T.F. as mentioned on the website, are you sure that you are not paying, the 2nd installemnt of the "green tax" that all new builds have to pay? The tax exemption, if applicable starts from the date you inform the mairie of the completion.

  3.
Thx for that. The job I was on corresponded somewhat to the "artists impression" as far as I could see but didn't sit as well on the hillside as it should have.  What is a paperasse etc? The construction was of "poteau ?" blocks if that makes sense, but few lintols were used and a form of U blocks used instead with about 6" sq of reinforced concrete poured inside. These seem an admirable way to form a ring beam, but a poor lintol particularly over an 8' garage opening. Also the wall blocks have specific corner blocks with a large void which locate to accept further reinf crete vertically, which I believe is intended to be attached to the ring beam forming a fairly stout framework. Of course that didn't happen on this job :). But I think you have answered my question regarding regs- but what happens if you sell on a bodge of this nature?
If they want to sell within ten years, they will be asked for proof of what remains of the 10 year warranty, if they can't produce that, I think that the price would be reduced by a large amount.
  4. If you connect a scart lead to the TV input marked "smart link", then you turn on the TV, then the digi box, it should automatically switch to the digibox signal.
  5. I was just going to post the same link. Lock indicator = OK Network ID = 0002 Transport stream 07d4 If when moving the dish you pick up a different satelite, giving numbers other than as above, unplug the Sky box, wait a moment then plug it back in,  then continue to align the dish, moving the dish in very small movements and waiting a few seconds between each adjustment.
  6. Probably to late to do it this year, but you should be able to change the way you pay in future, on this link. https://www.telepaiement.cp.finances.gouv.fr/stl/satelit.web?templatename=accueilcharpente&contexteinitial=2
  7. You can buy this part in France, from most of the large Brico places.
  8.
It never ceases to amaze me, the number of gas experts who post on forums Maybe that's why 50+ people in the UK and 300+ people in France die from gas related incidents each year I am gas qualified in France, are you, the other posters qualified to the same standard or just know it all's and Googlers Do it yourself gas expertise is never a problem until you are dead Le Plombier
Who are these gas experts you talk of? Changing the jets, on a gas hob. I have never set my myself up to be an expert, but I don't believe that you need more than common sense to do a job like this. If I need a more complex job doing.  I would call in the experts. You and widdy are taking it out of proportion.
Just been reading the site. Is type 2 diabetes covered under ALD for continued medication? If so, does that mean he wouldn't have to pay for his medication for this?
From a link on the site: http://www.frenchhealthissues.eu/reference/list_of_alds.htm
  10. Thanks for your concern Widdy, I did manage to change the jets and adjust the primary air screw, quite safely. http://www.smegtech.com/site/smeg/pdf_libretti/914771438-GB.pdf
  11.
Having, in the past, changed jets from bottled gas to town gas and, subsequently back to bottled gas I have never yet had to calibrate air/gas mix. In fact there is / was no method of doing so, Similarly the jets have not needed changing between the use of butane and propane, only the regulator.
All I can say is, the last two that I have fitted for myself, I have changed the jets to LPG and because the flame was not burning correctly, I have had to remove the knobs and adust the air screws to all the burners. Another point worth mentioning is that you get a packet of jets for different size burners, make sure the number on the replacement jet, has the same number stamped on it, as the one you are changing.
  12. I would say in my region it costs, around €60 per cubic metre, plus delivery. If you live close to a quarry and can collect, then it will be much cheaper, the best advice is, to buy a decent size trailer as soon as possible. EDIT After seeing BOF's post quoting of €11 per tonne, I have searched out some recent invoices, collecting the calcaire myself from local builders merchants, €43.33 per m3, the weight of a m3 equates to around 1.6 tonnes.
  13. They are normally set for town gas, but come with a set of jets for bottled gas you can change, then you will need to calibrate the air/gas mix. I expect that if you ask, Conforama will be able to do this for you.
  14.
I think you missed the point. Yes you need to UK resident, but the issue at hand is that of buying a ticket whilst in a country where it is not legal to do so. Spain we know is one such case but the situation in France has yet to be conclusively confirmed one way or the other.
"Please remember, you need to be a resident of the UK or Isle of Man at all times when you play UK National Lottery games through your interactive Account." I think you need to read the above more carefully, seems clear enough to me. Why look for complications that don't exist
Cooperlola wrote: "Like it or not, it is illegal to discriminate on the grounds of sex" Sorry to introduce this into an E121 thread but the UK government already do this with the Adult Dependency Increase part of the State Retirement Pension. A male pensioner can claim for his wife but a female pensioner cannot claim for her husband. If they are getting away with it on that one how long will it be before they start discriminating in other areas?
Yes, I have been through that one, maybe I will be too ga-ga to worry about the next thing, that they dream up[:D]

"No, not a right at all, it hinges on the definition of 'dependent' which is open to interpretation by the providing state." Are you sure you you are not Mr. grumpy in disguise?[:)]  The facts are out there for all to see, if you are going to question my reply, check the facts first.
  17. "Please remember, you need to be a resident of the UK or Isle of Man at all times when you play UK National Lottery games through your interactive Account." So if you are a verifiable UK resident, I don't see the problem.
  18. If it's LHD and on French plates then without checking the VIN numbers, no one would ever know that it had once been registered in the UK. "I have had a look at the DVLC web site and couldn't find it?" Does that mean you couldn't find the correct part of the website or that your British reg. number wasn't listed on it?

  20.
But we are 14 months down the line and the liklihood of hood of hhood of ghood of hof time. I think it highlights a bigger issue, do we trust the police force to use their instinct , or not ? If we do we have to accept that sometimes mistakes are made.
I think not, I sometimes watch those cops and driving programs and in every one I see, the police go out of their way not to take anyone into custody, even if they don't have a driving licence, insurance, MOT etc, (although they will impound the vehicle) the only criterea seems to be, that you can give a verifiable address, so they can send a summons by post.
  21.

They have no address to give, and their re regd car is checked off the chassis /vin no and comes up as unlicensed,
Not if they've properly exported it it won't.[;-)]
I legally exported my vehicle in 2003, it still shows on the UK site as unlicenced, with no export marker. So I could be in the same deep do-do has Mr O, if I get checked on a visit to the UK. Nothing is ever black and white, what happened too, presumed innocent until proven guilty. If it was me I would pursue it as far as possible. If this was anyone, other than "I,am here in france" they would have got a lot more symphathy and encouragement.
