  1. Hi all I am intending to build a a small lean to pergola to form a support for vines/Climers onto the back of our house.  It would ideally come out from the house about 2.5m and be about 3 -4m long, It would have no roofing attached, just wires to support plants etc.Can anyone tell me if I need special permission to do this?   Regards Nigel
  2. Hi everyone Some friends of ours are travelling south past our home in france on August 15th and would like to stay over the night. Alas we already have visiters and have no room. They would like to stay near us(Eguzon, Dept 36), so if there is anyone who might know of a decent place to stay with availabilty it would be much appreciated. Regard Nigel
  3.    Hi Jackie It does throw out a fair amount of heat, but like alot of others people we have a real large barn area. We will install another in the main part of the barn which is the living Rm and alot bigger so between the two I think it will be sufficient. Also bearing mind we do not live there, but for short vists I believe it will take a longer period to get the whole place really warm and aired.
  4. No it does not if it is done well. I raked out the joints for the gain and picked an appropriate spot for the socket. The sparky then fixed the back box with some adhesive but obviously not proud of the stone. He then completed the wiring and after I repointed the gain and around the the socket to match with existing lime mortar. Hope this helps
  5. It was the mulhouse that I got and I am quite happy with but for the fact that I really wanted double opening doors. When you open the door it comes into the room quite alot, small point I know, but double doors would look better when open.
  6. Hi Thanks for you  reply. I have now been over  and installed a supra, however I do need another one and would be interested in more info if you have it. I also need some Double insulated pipe for a new flu to run the new fire. Many Thanks.
  7. hi all First post for a long while. I will shortly be arriving in France to carry out some maintenance and have prepared old chimney with new liner etc and would like to know where I can purchase a log burner. We would prefer one with 2 doors and glass with an output of between 8 & 10 kw. We are situated around Eguzon(36).Any info on suppliers etc would be gratefully received. Regards nigel
