Thanks for the info Benjamin, but is it possible to have a look on-line. Until we see the offer - times of travel etc., I'm not even sure at the moment when we would be going.
-
Hi Tuppence
I've had a look and can't see this offer. Do you have more details, or can you direct me to the offer?
Thanks

Thanks for the link Derek. Fantastic pics. We have been following the Dakar on TV and there has been some awesome scenery - and of course amazing racing also.

Well I read this post and thought... well, I won't say what I thought as I would probably be banned from this forum.
Anyway, I went for a cycle and was thinking amongst other things what you had written and I came to the conclusion that you must have been joking. After all, no-one in their right mind would say such a thing, would they??

Baypond. Yes please, although I think you have done so! It seemed to want capitals for some reason?

I thought people might like to see these pictures we took today of a Wryneck that appeared in our garden. Being so rare in the UK it's the first we have seen, although they are apparently present here for the summer at least. It stayed around the garden for most of the day, but came close to the house for some time. The photos could be better, as they were taken though the double glazing of the kitchen window!

Hi
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between fromage blanc and fromage frais? And which one is served in hotels at breakfast time please?
Thanks.

Hi
I am looking for an Assurance Vie using Sterling and wondered if anyone has any knowledge of a provider or companies that arrange them?
Thanks

Thanks for the info, we may try the post option.
I also have no problem showing proof of payment of taxes, but firstly, this is not shown on their list of requirements on their official webpage, and secondly, we offered a copy of our 'Impot sur les revenus' but was told that this wasn't acceptable and we needed to obtain form P237. This will mean a round trip of 26 miles to our tax office. Not too far, but yes inconvenient!

Hi
Having recently exchanged my UK driving license to a French one, my husband decided that he should change his. So, today, off we go to the prefecture with the relevant documents, only to be told by the same women who had dealt with me, that he needed to produce a copy of form P237 which he could obtain from our tax office!
Has anyone got any idea what this form is and why we would need to provide it?

You obvioulsy live in the wrong area. We live in dept 72, but all around in 37 and 41 we can find some really good lunchtime specials - 4 courses from 11 euros to 13.50 euros (and some include wine). The 13.50 euro menu is for really top notch food.
We have yet to eat out since the TVA reduction, but I am sure some or all of those we frequent will have lowered their prices.

Hi
We also lost channel 5 recently following a thunderstorm. Eventually we unplugged the box from the mains and after a few minutes plugged it back in and everything went back to normal. So, if you haven't already, perhaps try that. It may just work.

Excellent news! We look forward to seeing you at scrutineering.

Hi
We have used Livebox for a few years and have had very few problems. I am happy to continue using it.

I use 3103 and this gives me details of all missed calls and messages where appropriate (obviously if numbers have been withheld, then we are only told that someone has called) and unless I save or delete them, they will stay current.

Thanks. I suspected we'd get the reception you did if we asked about it! We'll do a bit of "googling". Otherwise I guess it's seed and and 24 hour guards to keep the birdies off:-)

Hi
I wondered if anyone knows where I might be able to buy turf, in the Sarthe area preferably. And, maybe more importantly, what it would be called! It just might be easier than givving the birds an extra treat and seeing bare earth two months later!
Thanks

We were out cycling near Chateau de Loir (72) yesterday and also saw our first swallow. Here comes Summer!!

Hi All
Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the info. We are off to the Notaire this afternoon to sign the Compromis de vente and pay our deposit. We will ask about the CU then.
-
Hi Johny
We buy our birdseed from one of two sources. Over here we use Vivara http://www.vivara.fr/ or we have had it sent direct from RSPB to here http://shopping.rspb.org.uk/c/BirdCare.htm?utm_source=rspbwebsite&utm_medium=navigation&mediacode=T06ITH0221 Both of these will sell in various sizes.
As far as we are aware, here in La Sarthe we do not have Point Vert. Gamm Vert (at Ferte) does sell bird food, but not sunflower hearts (we have seen sunflowers but we tend not to buy them unshucked because of the mess they make).
Hope that helps.

Hi
It is currently building land and is being sold as such (terrain a batir). I just wanted to check if we should seek a CU, as I believe it's only valid for a year or so, and we have no intention of building there yet.
-
Hi
Some advice needed please.
We have agreed to purchase some building land adjacent to our house. We're going to the Notaire next week to sign the Compromis de Vente.
At our initial meeting, we were asked if we planned to erect/build anything on the land. We presume that if so, the Notaire would arrange for a Certificate d'urbanism (CU) from the Mairie.
As we do not intend to build, we said no.
Now we are wondering if it makes a difference whether we have a CU. I understand that it is only valid for 1 year, so would need to be renewed annually. Or is this something that can be issued some time down the line should we decide to build at a later date.
Thanks.

Thanks everyone for the info and the link BJSLIV. Unfortunately it would be the normal car for this trip Cooperlola.
If we go, it will be our first time back to the UK in over 4 years. I wonder if we will notice any difference.
