1. Hi, If you are interested, I believe SFR covers your area with ADSL2 + HDTV. The TV connection would be ethernet from their SFR-Box so no need for Satellite installation. We have this package and costs 29.90 per month. (It was 32.90 for the last 3 years, but when HDTV came to our area and  we rang them to upgrade at Xmas, they said it would be a new price of 29.90. Who are we to argue[:)]. Plus our internet speed went from 8mb to 15mb. You can check for coverage on their webpage.
2. Hi, Do you ever run 'Disk Cleanup'? It is a microsoft utility that should already be installed on your PC. You will find it in Accessories, then sub Directory System Tools. It will firstly scan your PC for any files that can be deleted and then give you a list of various files to delete. You just tick which to delete and then 'OK'. I usually just tick Recycle Bin and Temporary Files and do this once a week. If you have not done this regularly, you can have a large number of temporary files build up that is not needed. It is also a good idea to run a defrag regularly. My one runs in background daily. But there should be a microsoft defragementation tool on your PC as well. I hope this helps. [:)]
3.
It would be most unusual and outwith industry norms to modify a firmware version whilst retaining it's revision number [blink]
Thats what I thought. But then back in May, they had withdrawn the 3.8.8. update and I done a forced update and went back to 3.7.6. Will just have to wait and see if I get any freezes.
4. Hey, this morning I noticed that the Skybox had rebooted overnight, so checked the version number and I am back on 3.8.8. [blink] Just hope its a fixed 3.8.8.
5. Ok, I done the forced update and I am back on 3.7.6. [:)]
6. A bit puzzling that it did not update? I am tempted to try it as its getting very annoying resetting itself when you are watching something. But, not at the moment as in the last week, we have had lots of heavy rain plus a thunderstorm or two and forecast of more to come over the next few days. So, not quite the right time to try it.
7.
How do you go about doing a forced update, Please.
Quoted from this other forum: After consulting the Technical department they told me how to do a Software Download I did it and my box is now on EPG 3.7.6 This is what to do Software Download 1-Switch on TV 2-Switch digibox to Standby 3-Un-plug the mains to the digibox 4-Press the button on the front of the box marked BACK UP and keep it held in 5-Plug the power to the box back on 6-the red light on the front of the box comes on first followed by the others. 7-The following message appears on the TV screen Updating System Software Do not disconnect from mains supply or satelite dish This may take up to 10 minutes 8-ONLY when this message appears can you release the back up button 9-use as normal So we will see what happens in the next few days.
8. My box is still resetting itself at random times but reading from another forum, they report that Sky have now removed the 3.8.8 update and if you try a forced update, you will go back to 3.7.6. People that have done this are saying that they are no longer experiencing any problems. I am a bit hesitant on doing this as there is the chance that if you dont do it right, you can corrupt it. So at the moment I am holding out on Sky getting their finger out and let them do it by normal means.
9.
I wonder if our Pace box has escaped because it has not had a Sky card in it for ages? Or if it's because it's not one of the more common models? No doubt the 'improvement' will be rolled out to other boxes in due course. Sky is like that. Freesat is looking more attractive all the time.
I removed my card about a month ago and I get the problem at least once or twice a day over the last week. [:(]
10. Mine is a Pace 1.0.55. browsing other relevant forums, there appears to have been an update within the last 10 days or so. I am half convinced it was this that caused our problems. At least 7 on this forum has posted that they are experiencing the same  problem, so 7 boxes developing the same faullt at the same? seems too much of a coincidence.
11. Hi, My Digibox started to do the same ie picture freeze, go into standby and when I switch it back on, does a listing search. So, I thought it might have been on its way out (approx 5 years old). But I feel a lot better now that it appears that suddenly lots of others are having the same issue. [:)]
12.   We have also bought from Dell.FR & UK this year. We used the on-line chat and specified through this that we wanted UK keyboard and software. The rep then emailed the completed order form to us for verification and then finally rang us for the payment formalities. It was very efficient and I was quite impressed with the service and delivery.
13. Hi, I updated to version 3.0 yesterday with no problems at all. So far I am quite impressed with it and certainly a lot better than previous versions.
