  1. Hello, After some advice again as not sure and want to check before I buy one, Revo Pixis RS Colour Touchscreen Internet/DAB/DAB+/FM Radio with Alarm Clock and Wireless Network Audio Streaming - Black/Gunmetal I have found the above on Amazon and want to know will I be able to pick up the bbc radio of my orange box wi fi. Looking at the feedback its got it would seem I can but just wondered if some more technical person could take a look for me and confirm before I waste my money. Thanks.
  2. As from the past some of you will know I am not very good at this techy stuff, can someone tell me if I purchased one of these wifi radios would it pick up English radio through my orange live box.At the moment I have to log on with my lap top to the BBC to get the radio so not sure you can do this with these radios.
  3. Thanks Guys,I think I will stick the lap top out in the kitchen and let her listen through the internet or the other way around if a game is on line.
  4. Can anyone tell me if its possible to watch something recorded on the box and still let someone listen to the radio, when I am in the lounge watching tv (footie) my wife would like the radio on to listen to radio 2 but cannot see a way of having both on at once. Any help appreciated, John
  5. Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but I need to re thread the studs on my mini tractor wheels so need to go buy what in the uk would be a tap and die set I think. Can anyone tell me what they are in French. Thanks.
  6. Thanks guys , Have tried all above and still will not connect so going to send it back with the wife when she goes back to the uk next month I have a guy there who is good and a lot cheaper than the local place here. Thanks again for all your time, JOhn
  7. Hi Guys, Thanks for all the help but have tried all the above and it still will not connect and I have avast free addition on the lap top. John
  8. Thanks for the reply have tried to do this and when I click on device manager and network adapters I get these come up which is the correct one as I am not sure. Bluetooth device(personal area network)#2 Bluetooth device (rfcomm protocol tdi) #2 intel(r)centrino(r)advanced-n6235 Thanks.
  9. yes I thought of that but dont seem to be able to go far enough back as I have had the problem for about 2 months now.
  10. Hi, For all those that have been following the wi fi saga I now have another problem that I need to fix and its my lap top.Whilst trying to fit the wi fi I have somehow turned something off on my lap top with window 8 and it will now not connect to the internet. It finds all the available connections but will not connect to them and its the same if I hard wire it as well, Any suggestions I have had others look at it but to avail.after doing all the basic configurations. Thanks
  11. No problem and don't think its the cable as they can pick up the ubnt and a strong signal but cannot connect to the internet. and the cable is new and only about 15 mtrs longThe problem is I am not good enough to start playing around with the settings.
  12. Finally finished running the cable and tried to unplug the cable as asked but lost the signal, but that's not to say that you can configure it to work without but that's above me so will stick with what I have got.Strange thing is today the anglers have now got a full signal but cannot connect to the internet but they could yesterday, something else to try and sort out.
  13. Yes they are a great bit of kit for the price my friend told me about them as he works for a big networking company in the uk and its what they use around their offices, its only been on this week but up to now well impressed. Hope this helps some of you others.
  14. Sorry not sure about this as not that technical I am afraid, all I know is that since I have installed it there has been no difference to my own speed and as far as I know you cannot issue passwords.I am sure if you go onto their site you will find all the answers www.ubnt.com .I have checked with the anglers this morning and they are all still getting a signal.
  15. Hi, Yes it does have to be hard wired up after installation but only the Ethernet cable as it gets its power through that so all electrical connections stay indoors, might be a problem getting the cable outside for some but I have just been testing this hanging out the window and all our anglers this week are happy with the signal..For me its the answer and will now install it outside correctly, but like all things in life what good for some may not be so good for others.
  16. Funny the more I think of it the more I wonder why you see so many opticians wearing glasses I am starting to go off the idea.
  17. Well as promised here is an update on my wi fi journey after trying the fon for a while the big problem was it is not water proof and meant I had to keep it under cover and this reduced the signal a lot.So back on the internet and with some help from a friend I found the Picostaion2 from ubnt on amazon and at about £50 delivered what a great small piece of kit,its waterproof and sends the signal to the guys at the lake and they can even get a signal in the gite.If you want wi fi outside I can recommend this and its easy to fit. Hope this helps, and thanks for all the help in the past. , John
  18. Just wondered if anyone has had this done here in France as looking to have it done to get rid of the glasses, just wondered what the cost was compared to the uk.
  19. The primer is not a bulb its a push button on top of the engine under the cover I just pump it until it start to get harder to push and then it seems to be ok as it start, and no I dont think that the van is du tch.
  20. sorry I should have checked this before but its a 2008 year and a bog standard 1.9 diesal with no fancy electrics not even central locking. As I said it only does it occasionally and after it has been stood all night but once started its no problem amnd may go another month before it does it again. The van has 306000 on the clock so dont want to spend much on it as we only use it as a work horse to save the car. Thanks
  21. sorry just worked it out and it works a treat, thanks for the advice.....again John
  22. Thanks for that have downloaded but still cannot use iplayer,I think its something you have to do with the blue cross but everything I have tried does not seem to work. Any advice, Thanks
  23. I use onspeed so I could watch the bbc but have just tried and find I cannot now watch it is they have a new system that detects if you are abroad,is this new or just me using onspeed. John
  24. Not sure if this is the correct place but here goes,we have a Citroen berlingo 1.9 diesal van but not turbo and its 2005.The problem we have is that sometimes it will not start in the mornings and when we got the local garage out he went under bonnet and pushed the fuel primer and that gets it going. It did only happen every month or so but this week it was two mornings running has anyone else had this problem and what cured it,I am assuming its the fuel pump but not a mechanic so am after opinions. Thanks, John
  25. After I had already put it in the stop list and junked it one of the companies we have our fishing business for sale with emailed to say this person had emailed loads of clients with the same message, I am interested in this property do contact me with your last price. Thanks. As soon as I read the above you know its a scam but just wanted to warn others who may be more trusting than me.
