  1. So if they are so close to the patio area - and may therefore feel threatened whenever we are there also - what do we do? We are perfectly happy to let the little beasties have their lair until autumn and wait for them to die off unless they start to sting and I turn out to be allergic - as I am with bee stings? I have never been stung by a hornet and have no idea whether I would be allergic or not, however, if I am, and anything like the reaction I had to bee stings, then I might be in trouble? Advice please from anyone who has had a similar scenario? The tree sounds as though it will be OK but does anyone know if there is a connection between the stings of bees and wasps please?
  2. We have a house in Aveyron (12) and have what we think is a Coypu living along side our etang but he is mink-coat brown. I understand from a pest control website I found that Coypus grow up to 10kg and have tails like rats. Muskrats have flattened tails. We think ours is cute too but I have been advised to contact the authorities if there is a colony as they eventually destroy the banks  of rivers and lakes. We hope there is only the one  and we'll give him a name!
  3. We are a couple wanting a stay of about 6 months in a rural-ish location. We have sold our house and would like to check out the area before we buy. References available from our last tenancy (in the UK). Bond available.
