  1. Don't have any direct experience myself, but have you looked for one under "Pensions pour chats" in the phone book?
  2. And now a veritable plethora of answers! Everyone beat me to it - perhaps because it took me so long to work out a clear explanation . . .  Must get the brain in gear![blink]
  3. Qu'est-ce que (what is/are) on (one/we) mange (present tense of "eat") ce soir? ie: What are we eating tonight? So, keep it simple and leave the reply in the present tense, ie: We're eating . . . (fish & chips please, mmm . . .) "On mange . . .  ce soir.
  4. No replies yet? Hope you haven't been overlooked because I have just about the same query myself. I'm in the process of (trying to) translate my OH's CV but am a bit unsure about City & Guilds, etc, qualifications. My CV was translated by 'un français' as follows:   O levels = Baccalauréat 1ère partie/A levels = Baccalauréat 2ème partie/legal and computer qualifications = formation juridique et informatique. Don't know how accurate/inaccurate the translation is though. I have seen job adverts requiring "Bac + 2" (for example) but don't know what this means? HELP!![:'(]
  5. Never been myself but, according to their booklet, there are a couple of Formula 1's in Madrid. Animals accepted for an extra €2 per night.
  6. When I was looking for work, the ANPE referred me to an association called "Portes Ouvertes" which finds work for "problem"(!) customers. I had my own case worker who discussed with me my qualifications and aptitudes (my French isn't fluent either). They help you draw up a French CV and prepare application letters and they would probably be able to advise on how to get your qualifications recognised here. They also approach appropriate employers (in your case local accountants, etc) proposing you for a couple of weeks "free" work experience. This may be a way "through the door" when they see what an asset you could be! Other than the direct approach, ASSEDIC/ANPE may well be able to help - don't know whether Portes Ouvertes do the same thing in your area. Good luck.
  7. Have just seen your thread re. your Neuf Box; you could be describing our own experience . . . Our Neuf Box goes off each evening too (it used to be between 10 and 11pm; now between 8 and 9 pm). It (sometimes) comes back on if we re-boot it but it always goes off again sometime during the night and we have to re-boot each morning. I have phoned Neuf Assistance three times. The first time they sent me a replacement box but that was no better. The second time I was told that the next "mise à jour" would sort things out (it didn't). The third time the man insisted on sending us another Neuf Box, despite being assured that the box works fine during the day. Needless to say, nothing has changed. I received two Customer Survey forms in which I made clear my dissatisfaction. The third time, I didn't receive one! We don't have a mobile phone so when the box goes off we are incommunicado. Our LAN connection is nearly three kms away and we are at the end of a line so we think this may be the cause of the problem. It seems weird that we have no problems during the day but the box goes off every evening and doesn't come back on again unless we up-date via the computer or switch off and on again. From what little browsing of the internet I've done, it would seem that we're not on our own - both customers of Neuf ( http://www.justneuf.fr) and other companies. I was interested to see Clair's thread but I'm not sure whether other suppliers are any better so am undecided whether to swap. Would be interested to know what you decide to do and how you go on. Good luck [blink] Val & Phil (two more of Neuf's dissatisfied customers)
  8. Depends where you are in 32. Anywhere near Vic Fezensac? - Camazzola Entreprise (with or without driver), or Condom - I'd recommend Localbret You'll find them both under "Location de materiel" in Pages Jaunes. Bon travail!
