    Old pets and jabs

Is any one else concerned about vet jabs and there effect on old pets?. I have recently lost two pets a cat and dog. The cat became lethargic within days of recieving his innoc and rabies jab and healthy to heart condition within 3 months. The dog growth on liver. Have you lost an elderly pet after they got their jabs?
  5. I know I am late with this post but here goes . I think if you have not resized your photo to about 100k the avatar upload and save button on the bottom of the page just ignores your request without even telling you that you are being daft. Hold your cursor over the picture in photo bucket to see how big it is. I could be wrong as I have been known to be daft myself sometimes. Loz

  16. First of all design and publishing web site is just the start, the hard bit is finding your audience. Search Engine Optimisation is difficult. If you choose to advertise with someone else instead check their position in search results, for your specific need. Do they come on the first page. Its amazing how many companies for example advertise SEO  and they cant even get their own website in the first 5 pages of a google search. If you go down the home web design route keep in touch and there are many people on this forum will vet, criticise and encourage you. There is no substitute for taking a look at the first and second page results , find the websites of people who have made it to this exalted position using the search terms you think your clients will use and copy their technique. Just don't copy their code !! Breezybreak.com.

    Which strimmer?

Wear protection for your eyes. Not the googles they fill with sweat, but those wrap around plastic glasses from the diy stores or face mask. I have been hit full on the lenses twice and would have been blinded by now if I had not worn them. Although my wife swears by her slug face-pack ,the face mask is probably best.

  21. I recently overheard an American talking about France and he declared that France would be dragged into the present by Sarkozy. He basically said that it was backwards in its employment laws etc. Now I have some sympathy with this American view point but not much. I have seen poverty in America and in France but the one thing I find outstanding in France is the base quality of life. By that I mean the low costs for basics like housing and basic food stuffs. The fact that no matter how low you fall you’re not likely to have to work on a Sunday; you will get a descent lunch break, and barring gross mis-conduct you will probably have a job for life. People forget these things when they can’t find a shop open on a Sunday or it is closed for lunch, and should think of those that work at this level and how their family life and life -work balance are protected at the states expense. This is not backward to want true wealth shared amongst everyone, and to protect those at the bottom from the full impact of market forces. I think Sarkozy will change nothing of importance, as the French people run France. In the UK when the supermarkets opened all hours I felt no improvement in my life, did you? I will always remember though shopping at the Asda in Leeds for years and the cheerful staff there, and how that changed within months of Wall-Mart taking over.
  22. We seem to have broken the ice down at the local Tabac which sells just about everything you would care to think of . My wife who is the most skilled of our family at languages, wanted one of those pastries filled with apple, but somehow asked for a sock full of apples.Bless her, at least we get a smile from the staff now everytime we visit. 23. Thanks everyone I think we found the answer. We disconnected our setup and plugged the Tv into the standard ariel which we know  gives a very poor signal to test tv. Seeing as it rolled over in the back of the car on a roundabout. (yes my driving is getting very French). The Tv worked with poor picture quality. Anyway it all came back to the universal remote!! my wife fiddled with it and discovered a system 2 Well I did not know we had a system 1 until she used the shift button and experimented. The picture tune in quality on system 2 is spot on and I am wondering if this is a PAL versus Secam  thing. Anyway I'm using the terrestrial ariel for now but when I try it again with the sat receiver I'll use system 2. I have also been offered the service of a kind expat with meter for sat install, "things are looking up" Cheers everyone.
  24. Thanks for trying to help. The box is an elap SL 1 and the diagrams all show a hook up to a magnetoscope a video recorder I am guessing but my setup goes from tv to tv scart socket, is this a problem. It looks like only one AV channel but hard to say as remote is universal and no buttons on TV other than basic on /off and volume.I am getting static only after re-seating cables. And reseting SL 1 to factory reset.I have not had a screen yet that looks like it originates from SL-1.I got the impression from others that if you point the dish at the sky your bound to pick something up. Perhaps I have not set the Sl 1 correctly for my area. Thanks for trying anyway
  25. A few questions from a sat novice if anyone can help. Based in France Limousin just been donated sunwood tv and aquired SL1 sat receiver and dish Have I any hope of making this work. Not sure this tv nationality. It has a scart point and AV but I cant seem to get sat receiver dispay on screen to display any menu functions. Tv came with UK plug . Mate told me he had it working but in France, I'm not so sure!. Do I need decoder for freeview channels. I do not want sky just French freeview channels. See what I mean when I say complete novice!
