1.
Hello, I have just received the prices from them:  1 bedroom/2 persons €240 2 bedrooms/4 persons €345 3 bedrooms/6 persons €530 4 bedrooms/8 persons €695 5 bedrooms/10 persons €845 6 bedrooms/12 persons €985 7 bedrooms/14 persons (with a suite) €1150
Well that's a laugh.  Don't they know the rules for French B&B - MAX 5 bedrooms!!!!
2. Is it true that the cotisations are going to have a 14% of income ceiling as from this year?  Can you deregister for just three months or does it have to be six months?
3. isn`t there something about 183 days in a year in one country and you are classed as a resident ??   it`s OK just heard SD turn off his bike...          Dave That's a British tax law and nothing to do with being resident in France.
4. So according to that site it's still not necessary to have the rabies jab?
5. We're thinking of bringing a friend's cat over from the UK to live with us here as ours has recently died and theirs needs rehoming.  When we brought ours originally (2002) we only had to get an export licence and didn't even have to get a rabies jab done.  From what I've been reading recently it seems that you now have to have a passport even if you don't intend to take the pet back to the UK.  Is this true?  And what do you need to do to bring a cat over permanently?  I didn't find the DEFRA site very helpful on this matter.
6. That's interesting.  We got letters last July (2006) telling us this may happen and that they (DWP Newcastle) would keep us informed as to whether we needed to carry on making our NI contributions but we've never heard anything back.  Do you have a source for this information?  I also don't understand why they would do this when they say there already isn't enough money in the coffers to pay pensions for the aging population?
7.
Yes the shipyard closed years ago but now the city is relying on tourism and the beauty of its natural scenery.. There you could see the highest maritime cliffs in Europe.
I thought that honour went to the Nez de Jobourg on the Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy but if you do a Google search apparently the highest cliffs in europe are also in the Faroe Islands as well as County Donegal!!
8.
need to buy a bed for it. gites de france seem to be mega picky about the type of mattress you have to have.... 35kg minimum density....no foam.....
But 90% of mattresses in France ARE FOAM.  It's almost impossible (or they think you're an imbecile) to try and buy a sprung mattress here.
