  1. Well here we go. We have always served it as you say .....but with the rice rather butter in flavour, fluffy and with a light spicing of tummic/saffron[either/or] powder and a few cardomon pods mixed in with the rice.To fininsh a few lightly roasted almond flakes on the top. Fresh broad beans and peas from the pod very lightly cooked[broad beans de husked] this makes a perfect vegetable match. But like everything it is subjective.
  2. Assumptions again! I had a Three AA rosetter restaurant in London. Not a hotel. Not a liar. Please check with the Automobile Association  in UK and you will find out that Chinon had three AA rosettes for many years. Most restaurants which have three AA rosettes have one star Michelin.      We  have   with us we have some cerificates and plates which the AA send you each year. Maybe I am boreing...so ignore me as I am now going to ignore YO
  3. Well if my spelling and grammar is a disaster....what is the reason for the "ridiculous catastrophe" going on in UK ! Never mind this nonsense about rose tinted glasses.I have an opinioun. You are not prepared to accept the facts which I offer. You seem very contented at showering me with rudeness.Regardless of these displays of anger and attacks of my website, command of English and disregard for my observations of the region I live in.I will say that my buisness is both established in the corerect manner and is performing well. Once I have a new website in place all will be great. Whatever you feel about me....and by now I really know....and can see it all clearly.......The company which host the Forum is offering a picture of life in France and sales of property in France. It is sold in UK [PROBABLY other countries] There is absolutely no benefit to readers, sellers and the publishers of the magazine to have this strong bias against being in France.I am suprised that the Moderatoors are so un-moderate. I think that it is time to cool down and think a littI le......put some of that hate to sleep.I am so boering.....fine.No more postings. Enjoy your Cocoa.
  4. That sounds very miserable... France Forum. A place to express ones passion for France.I much prefer to explore ideas than sip at cocoa at 7pm.I am not a member of the Cocoa Club!
  5. Yes Jay I can read what is printed on the top of each page!Surely you did not intend to be rude?! I  really would like to establish ...Is Achant publishing hoping to continue to have a good sales? Surely it is in their interest to encourage a positive approach to life in France. Most people reading these post would imagine that all of you are living in France and despise the country.Infact some of you have second homes and others complain about All things French. Some of these people have never purchased here and it sounds like you have been involved in a sad holiday romance which ended very badly.Reading some of the posts;although grammaticly correct there is a lot of assumption, anger and intolerance.Very few of you seem to have a great admiration for France as a place to visit, buy property or live in. I have been reading French Property News for years and hope that it continues. But it is mainly, surely about beeing in love with France!
  6. I would like to know if this forum was created by /in association with the publication of French Property news and Living France?
  7. sorry       theinternationalkitchen.com      Our hoiday is under the section SWFrance.
  8. The web designers was asked to correct all errors....if not once but a hundred times. He is an ex someliar from UK.We sent him hundreds of photos to choose from...and, of course repeted several. I then found a woman living in area 24 who promised the earth! She was supposed to add pics and change pics....and above all sort out fonts and change the front and back page errors. She inisted that she had been blocked.....and was unable to access those pages. This "destination finder" rhing is far from my idea and I would like it taken off. It obviously means that I need a new website but I am finding that web designers can be somewhat elusive and indulgent. Yes I have got a nice B and B.I have clients who are returning and recomending the place to others. We had three AA rosettes in England in THE Automobile Association guide for many years. That is very similar to one star michelin. I did try.. to recruit the skills of one of your forum contributors and was met with all sorts or problems relating to what I wanted to achieve from a web site.I know what I want but the web designer has to listien.I want a design and layout which is clean an simple using ...probably one font.I want the web designer to take command and show me progression step by step....one page at a time....untill we have reached the last page and all is fine. Yes I am sure Russet House that there is MRSA in France. The level of incompidence that I have experienced in UK relating to medical attention has been horrific and I sincerely hope that my cases are isolated errors.However.....facts and figures do not make that suggestion. As I have said before...whatever feelings you have about how bad life is in France or how great Uk is....there is no need to tell people to tell people to "shut-up"......or to make great expression of disbelieve. Russet house we do not have menues. The clients who stay here are invited to have table d'hote. The menues on the website are examples of what clients can expect to eat. Our cookery holiday is detailed with an American company called Internationalkitchen.com ave a look at their description of the vacation.
  9. And I never understand why people pay so much attention to spelling and grammar as if it is a life giving product. Dyselxia is much more complex than failure to spell correctly. It can be realted to an ilabilty to coordinate and link.I am unable to learn to drive, follow road routes, learn choregraphy and anything technical connected with computors if  you fail to appreciate this.....it is your choice. It does seem that some of you have this great capacity to assume and condem. I have looked at many web sites which appear on this forum and find them visually unattractive. However I have no desire to attack people rudely and mock them publicly. That is not a desplay of intelligence.Being told to "SHUT-UP" is a bad display or anger...usually afiliated [I have not got access to spell check...]with kiids who do not get their own way. I have ...as I recall suggested that France is not perfect.I have  also said that before anyone leaves their country of birth they should survery the new destination totally. Two clients[who were originally from UK and living in Perth] said that they are thinking of moving here to France. They announced that they will never live in Uk again..He is an airline pilot and is London and Heathrow frequently. Both of them have had parents or grand parents who have experienced MRIS in UK hospitals....one these MRIS cases was a fatality.
  10. Quillan my property is a Gironde style house. I do not refer to it as a chateau. The weddings are organised at a chateau 10 mins from me and it has a river frontage and 22 bedrooms. I can not see any point in this childish nonsense.....we have already been through this episode about spelling ect. Glad that everything is tickity boo with your chambre d hote.....your menue looks good and your prices are very reasonable.   .
  11. Well...in accordance with Russet Houses's own character sketch...my picture matches....and, incidently there was nothing rude in my interpritation. The pottery which she seems to like is very traditional. The decor of my property is a little more abstract. However it seems, once again very fashionable to be rude to Jon!Is English my first language ......lots of implications! Oh well looks like I will never be joining your club..... Clients  take ppresidence.
  12.                                      Quickly!!!!!
  13. "talk funny"...type kickly ....whatever.The flood is over you can enjoy your negativity without my attendance.
  14. I have nothing to prove! There is no miracle and no fireworks to explode. I very much doubt if you are interested to book rooms at my property....so how can it be advertising! Are you tourists?Look an apology please from those of you who are rude!It is not necessary at all......all rather stange that you unable to accept my thoughts and findings.
  15. Yes if you purchase a hotel...you still get what you pay for. I know of something interesting for sale which is a small hotel with a seperate owners house....with a resturant. All set-up in the correct manner. Not mine...I do not have a hnotel/restaurant.
  16. Russet house....not really sure that a person can be better of with a great command of a language if they have no prospects of making a living.Lots of Polish people came to UK without much English...lots of them found adequate work. Many people came to France and have little buisnesses of all kinds....their English, perhaps was a little vague at the begining but with practice and learning become good enough  to to intigrate and enjoy life. One of the people I know teaches French and helps people with writng letters/phone calls which are legal or complex. These such matters are difficult at the best of times. Russet House I imagine that appreciate France at a distance and that you probably do not spend much time here[out of choice].Life is fairly comfortable for you at home. You are, unlike me very traditional?Your photo on the  forum...does that show you as you are now?If so then perhaps some day you may concider that living in France is a good option.Your French is probably fairly good? Truely I am not at all sure that it is about language at the end of the day! It is about belonging somewhere. If you leave children in UK and come to live here it can be emotionally difficult.Emotional support is the major factor of  happiness.....much harder to find in a fundentally selfish world.
  17. "Escape route back HOME" Are  those of us who moved here living in a war zone.It weould also depend on who and what you were going to escape back to! Back to square one.....not easy to get work in UK....graduates are not having a great time getting work.six of one...half a dozen of the other/
  18. Yes...you have concluded excactly as I have....only I am in a different region with a slightly different mix of people.
  19. Dusty looks a little like that..small and black...but with long fur.The babies are tigers with striped tails just like bad dad!
  20. Oh yes they will be lovely...alas the mother belongs next door?!The neigbour, however forgets to feed her cats...thats why they want to be with us. She will have to be "taken care of" I guesse it will be me who gets it sorted. The dad is my cat[well he comes and goes when he wishes...and I have tried to keep him in long enough to keep him away from food in order to "get him done"Oh well!Well I will take everyone to the vets soon!
  21. Oh perhaps you may wonder why I was up so early...well in the middle of the night the neighbour's cat gave birth to kittens in our house!Looks like I have a problem or 4 to deal with....not sure that this lady is an animal lover. As her two cats seem to be taking bed and breakfast with us....now it is room service too. We love animals...we found a hedge-hog in the vent of the swimming pool.....he was rescued and persuaded into a cat-box.He appeared to be ok!
  22. No we are not a restaurant. So we only offer dinner to our guests. We do have people who stay the night and have dinner....celebrations. With a restaurant we would both be preparing food all day and night and with food wasteage...there have to be choices. However there is still a lot of work as everything is made here [we currently buy the bread from the boulangerie] We buy the wine from our neighbour...just along the road.
  23. Well we did have a restaurant in London which had 3 AA rosettes which equates to once star Michelin....but the decor was not just posh enough to get a star and we had no someliar. But once a chef...alwaysa chef I guesse. There are lots of chefs and restaurants in our area but not so many of them seem to enjoy cooking.Breakfast seems to be about jam, bread, coffee and juice but when you are on holiday the food should be glorious!Thats our idea.Am I allowed to add my website address?
  24. Yes the work of a B and B is very hard.As long as you go into this with your eyes open and without a mortgage. Certainly no borrowing. In my opinioun you need to give good value and be flexable. My clients this week have had a  plate of cooked food with their breakfast. The breakfast includes all the usual things like bread, brioche and yougurt...but also fresh fruits...we have cherries right now.Today it was scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. For dinner last night there were four generous courses[I left the cheese out and gave another starter...avocado and fesh prawns,a fresh salmon and corriander fish cake with home made chilli and lime jam...followed by a veal chop, cep sauce, fresh spinache, courgettes sauteed with  fresh plum tomatos and baby new potatos...To finish rubabrb crumble made with ground almonds. I believe that making money now is not easy...really hard in fact...and those who need an income have to apply themselves. As I have said before...I believe in UK  if I had stayed I would have moved away to a region...lets say Cornwall or Devon....and looked for a similar property....[would have had to pay more for such a property] and the season would be shorter by maybe two months. Our clients come from all over the world.....and hopefully this situation will continue. We have people arriving this week from Dubai and next week from Hong-Kong.Most of these people wish to dine with us because of our cooking baground which is extensive and fairly precise. We are, I guesse competitive for quality and price. However my eggs are not all in one basket! My eyes are wide open and I listien to others. As you can see. Just remember that nothing is forever! In a few years time the economy may recover somewhat....we have venture to something smaller....a place near the sea.I may even have the desire to stop working..who knows....this is just life.
