  1. Thank you all, I took the forms in today , to be told I'm late ! Deadline was Monday, thought I would have to do them on line but she took them with a French tut tut!
  2. Yes, I am a OAP - and get no other pensions or income, We, my wife and I, now get cover under the S1 so we have closed the autoE which was in her name and I was a dependent for health care proposes. If I dont need to fill 2047 V1 or V111 where do I put the phase "titulaire d'assurance maladie privée complete, exempt de CSG et CRDS sur revenus de remplacement" to stop the costilations, ?
  3. Hi, I have read the section in the guidance here about pensions but I am still confused, I have, since September, reached the ripe old pensionable age and have since stopped paying contributions as an auto entrepreneur and succeeded in cancelling that perfectly ! I have put my pension in section 1 on the 2047, I have then transferred that to 1AS, but my question is on the 2047 Is section VI just for taxed pensions ? so I just need to do the note in section VIII ? Do I need to do one of the 8 notes on the 2042 like 8TK?
  4. thank you so much for your suggestions, it was less than 5k and I paid 700 gbp tax so its not so much but I am confused. Do you think I should enter the gross amount and then the UK will eventually refund me ?
  5. Hi, I cashed a private pension in last year, not for much but they taxed it and sent me a P45. When I contacted UK tax office I was told that although I had filed a P85 they had not yet received the FD5 so I had to pay and when sorted they will refund the income. But I dont know if I now need to declare the income on my French form and if I do - where abouts, does anyone have any suggestions ?
  6. Thank you all, took the relevant words (all of them) and apparently in our area we can only have calcaire so that arrives tomorrow,
  7. Hi, a while ago I read a tread about laying gravel driveways and someone described a method using various size stones so that after a period of time they settled and it formed a compact surface. Although I have searched here, I am not convinced I have the right answer, I do need to know the french term, I found Calcaire and Concasse - are they the same ? will they be suitable to cover an existing stone drive that is just old and worn out, many thanks
  8. Re the wine : the Sancerre slopes run down to Menetou Salon, to the west you have Quincy and Reuilly, to the south east of Sancerre you have Pouilly, in the south of the department you have the chateaumeillent area, to the north of Pouilly you also have the Coteaux du Giennois area, all these areas are AOC controlled. Dont miss the gardens at Aprepmont, and the Chateau at Menetou Salon. There is also a very famous pottery production at Gien, and for water lovers you have the canal system at Briare where the canal passes over the Loire and then over the Allier at Bec d'Allier
  9. We have a chambres d'hotes at the eastern end of the Loire, near to Sancerre and Pouilly sur Loire, there are a lot of things to do this end of the Loire, depends on your interests, wine, cycling, chateaux, fishing, and on etc, Pm me if you would like our private details,
  10. Sorry, I am confused, are you booked in somewhere now ? or are you still looking ? do you want me to send the details again ? (or other poster ?)

    Carbonate de Chaux

I've bottled fruit for years, peel stone and cut in half, make sugar syrup, put fruit in jars, cover with syrup, put the jars in oven at 120 degrees on a tray with newspaper on, make sure you have a good gap between the jars. in half an hour or so you will see bubbles in each jar, remove from oven and seal, (I have assumed you have a kilner type jar with a rubber seal) when they are cold test the seal by undoing the metal clip and hold the jar up by the lid, if the seal holds then the fruit will keep, if not eat as soon as poss, I have only ever washed jars in dishwasher after removing the metal, replace the rubber seals every few times,
  12. thank you so much for taking the time to write this, we are staying in metz for 4 nights in the hotel de cathedral but are driving to Luxembourg for the day on the friday, budget not so important as atmosphere and good food, but as we are with company, the meat and 2 veg type may be best, although I am tempted very much by the cheese shop, what a lux portions ?

    tomatoes

I was hoping someone could come up with an idea that wouldn't involve me in buying yet more gadgets ! You could bottle them, we do quite successfully each year.  Fry in oil 1 part onion, when soft add 5 parts toms, best skinned but if you dont mind skin then leave it.  Boil gently for 2 or 3 hours until you have a chutney like consistancy, thick and lumpy, and then put in jam jars, the ones with twist lids are best, if you do this when hot it creates a vacunm. We do this most years and have never had a jar go off. Once you open the jar you can season as to your chosen use, garlic more onions chilli mushrooms etc
  17. I have sent you a pm, it is not a complete answer so I hope others will post too
  18. I think you are right with no. 3, a few odd nights booked from a paying advertisment is not like having a week booked in a gite.  The site also does not come up well when I search for bbs in our area, Advertising bbs is a whole different ball game wouldn't you say ?
