Hi On a recent trip to France we decided to eat in a restaurant in Limoges while waiting for our return flight back to UK, we ordered what we thought was a burger as on the menu it said something about single and double however our faces were a picture as we were served up with two plates of stone cold thinly sliced beef.  We have no complaints the restaurant was lovely and to be fair it as the only mistake we made during our visit but has anybody any idea what we ordered please as I would hate to make the same mistake again?  

We are visiting France on the 26th of November, that is 5 of us 4 adults and 1 child, we are coming for a holiday/house hunting trip and would just love to visit some lke minded people while we are there.  We land at Limouges airport in the morning and leave on Saturday the 1st, staying in a cottage in Lupersat which I believe is in the Auzances.  Our aim one day is to eventually move to France, that would be two families and we would like to find somewere big enough for all of us and hopefully run Gites or B&B and enough land to grow plenty of veg's.  We are so looking forward to our break and would really like to talk with people who have already made the the move, if anybody is good enough to reply I will send an email with my mobile Number. Hi Many Many Thanks for the replys and a whole lot of good advice, some of which I hope to follow, this visit will indeed be short, unfortunatley it is all we can manage at present but realy this trip will be to see if the idea is good, more than to attually find a property, having said that "who knows" one thing nobody has replied to is. I dont think it would be to difficult to find somewere to stay for the two nights but genuinely thought it best to stay with people doing just what we hope to do, that is run our own gites, and perhaps give some buisiness to someone at a quite time of year, if this is the wrong site for this where should we be?

We are a group of seven from Yorkshire, thats my wife and I (sound posh) "wrong" two of our children, lad 21 girl 14 and my wifes cousin her husband and there 10 year old daughter. we are aiming to take on a Resteration project and to this end have aranged to visit the Limousin region in November we arrive at Limoges airport on the 26th and return on the 29th we will arrange with agents to look at some propertys but would most like to meet people that have already taken the step and would make the use of somebodys gites at a time of year when possibly things are bit quiet

Now you may find this a bit morbid but I have always fancied the idea of becoming an undertaker, its the challenge of being able to handle people in siuations where I would be able to help them feel better, imagine the buzz when you are thanked for going that little bit further to make there particular occasion special. "If anybody is still reading this" it strikes me that with so many expats now in France maybe an English undertaker would be appereciated.  I would be interested to know if it would ever be possible to find a position like this in France.

We are hoping to eventually move to france and after the initial renavation work is done would like to work maybe part-time. I am a bus driver here in the UK with a clear all types PCV Licence and would like to know if my licence will be valid in France and if any body else has done the same thing.

Hi Thanks so much for getting back to us, I do realise that was a very general, and as time go's on I am sure more specific problems will arise I wil go straight to them. Basicly Four of us, that's my wife and myself and my wifes cousin and husband are very sreious about taking on and living in possibly your region, one property thats caught our eye is on "and I quote" is A house and three barns to renavate in a pretty Hamlet in the North-West of La Creuse.
