  1. Bring one over.  The cheapest i have seen was 59€ in lidls.
  2. If you are still interested i will ask my friend who is actually the local charcuterist (spelling) in Briouze.
  3. thanks chris.  Silly question, do i find gelatine where the cake and desert ingredients are?  I have never bought it before.  I shop at lidls so will try that out, thanks ever so
  4. I have been told it is difficult for kids under the age of 18 to work also, because the employer needs to fill out 1 piece of paper and hand it over to assedic, and alot of employers, however silly it may seem, just cannot be bothered, therefore the young employee ends up not being able to work, when willing.  Even though i made tax contributions in UK i am unable to receive any "job seekers allowance" until i have worked 6 months in the country, which i can't understand , but thats the way it goes.
  5. thanks ever so, will try it out!!!
  6. Hi Sorry to be asking but i am not a big cheese eater.  What cheese do i buy from the local supermarket in order to make a cheesecake?
  7. I had my docs translated and they charged 16 centimes per word.  For birth cert, divorce and another the total was 75€ and they got the translations back to me within 2 days.  I can give you their e-mail address if you need it.
  8. Hi   In my experience of going to Assedic, you have to have worked in France for min 6 months to be entitled to "chomage" unemployment benefit.
  9. I posted a reply but its in the legal section.  Hope it helps
  10. I am also getting married, well i hope, and it is a headache.  It is still not confirmed as the secretary in the mairies office can't understand why my name has changed, as its not the same as what is marked on my birth cert.  Thats another story!  We are getting married at the local mairies office and we needed to have been living in the village for 1month before the wedding date, translate any documents such as birth certs, divorce certs etc into french.  Then applied to British Embassy for certificate of law ( certificate de cotume) which was 55€ plus p + p.  The embassy had no problems and sent the certificate back within 1 week. I needed to send them my passport and birth certificate.  Theres a form in format PDF on the british embassy website that says what you need . Then its blood tests and thats all. Hope this helps!!
  11. Hi there Don't know if this helps... I went to AGF and I had no problems with my NCB.  I just handed the proof over, which had expired 1 year before and got insured.  The percentage was less as it works differently, but, however, I still managed to get a good price for my insurance.  They worked it out on the amount of years NCB I had.
  12. yes please do tell if this is so, as i would like to know too.
  13. Many thanks, didn't realise had to have been living in France for 5 years.  Getting wed is a bit drastic for that.  Just wanted to know thats all, having a passport is no drama, just wanted to understand the options.   Thanks all
  14. Can someone please tell me if it is possible to change nationality from British to French.  Therefore requiring a carte d'identitie instead of a passport.  Have searched the British Embassy website but with no joy.   Thanks Max
