  1. restoration properties (plural) somebody's
  2. I used to know Harriet and her husband a bit back in the 1970s. They even had dinner at our place. I shudder to think of her as Deputy Leader - every bit as dangerous as Gordon. These people really haven't got a clue.
  3. Dead simple as it is the notaire who handles the legal arrangements. I did it two years ago with no problems what so ever
  4. Just a question. I have a house in lower normandy which is slap bang in the middle of the village square. Brand new roof with a dormer and 8 veluxes, but a fair amount of work needs doing. Small patio area, 6 bedrooms and a quarter of an acre field round the corner. Does this type of property sell easily? Lovely house if you like being in a village and not have a garden to bother with.
  5. I think sometimes we have to think out of the box. It is true that this diet idea comes from Dr Peter d'Adamo and his father before him. Scientific research does not necessarily provide the answers that real life experience provides. So I speak from 10 years experienmce. Let me explain. I am 58 and quite fit, I cycle 200 miles a week and am competitive in cycle races. 10 years ago I could not walk up the stairs due to ME or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I was exhausted all the time and very very weak. I went all over the world for a cure and eventually found a homeopath in Denver who was a trained medic and pharmacist who had swithed to alternative type treatments because he had no faith in the medical profession of which he had been a part for many years. He does two things: Firstly live blood analysis. This magnifies your blood x thousands of times and you can see by the cell structures and the things floating about in your blood the various parasites and so on. He prescribed a change of diet (as well as some mineral supplements) and as I am an O blood type it was the wheat free, cow's dairy free diet with an emphasis on heavy red meats (I had been a vegetarian for many years). To cut a long story short, I eventually followed the diet and once I was on it it took three months before I was back training on the bike and 4 months before I started low-level racing again at club level. Since then I have ridden time trials much faster than I did when I was a youngster. A by-product of this experience is that I had had IBS for some 15 years. Nutritionists tried to deal with it by getting me to eat more oats and grains - this only made it worse. So they came to the conclusion (false) that the IBS was caused by stress and that whatever they did would not help. The IBS went in 3 days after I started this diet. And I haven't looked back since. I am a former chairman of a national ME charity and some people I met through that followed the same treatment successfully. I have had many years experience of this diet and I could say many more things here. There is no point in arguing against people who point to articles on the internet which decry this nutritional approach, or to argue against those who call it a fad american diet and all the rest of it. It makes sense. It works and it puts most nutritionists to shame. Scientific research has led us as a human race up many garden paths so lets just say that in this case human experience is a far more valuable basis on which to proceed.  So I will happily repeat: All O blood people are wheat intolerant. All A group people should be vegetarians and O group people should eat lots of red meat. All blood groups should avoid pork like the plague ................ just buy the books and you too can change your life. (PS I am not sponsored to say this!!!!!!!)
  6. It is not just the website. There are issues with clarity and marketing and most of these issues have been covered above. Basically I found the site a bit drab - the last thing you want is a drab site when you are asking people to come and stay with you on holiday. The marketing angle needs work on. Find all the clasic car clubs and tell them what you offer. After all, you love classic cars and people do like to stay with like minded people (as a cyclist I am more likely to stay with cycling enthusiasts than motorbike ones!). You can market through the various clubs. For example: Come here in your classic Saab (or whatever) show us your membership card and we'll give you 10% discount. Use the classic car clubs, painting clubs and cookery clubs to do your marketing for you. Three separate businesses there. Do not melange them. I could say a lot more but I'm being called for dinner.
  7. All O blood group people are wheat intolerant. It manifests itself in different ways - some people just bloat, others have IBS and bloat, others develop cancer. If anyone here is suffering from IBS check your blood group and cut out the wheat and dairy (plus lots of other things) if you are O--type. This worked for me and I klnow many people who have also benefitted. Actually, in my opinion, wheat can be a dangerous substance and has a lot to answer for!!!!!!!   PS I know a lot of you won't agree with me - b ut that is up to you. I know this is correct.
  8. I think there are more drugs and alcohol in the average motorcyclist round these roads than in the average cycle racing peloton. Certainly the crew that hang out at the local HD store frequently seem to have bottles of lager or whatever, something I have never ever seen on cycle club runs.
  9. "I know" he thought "I get lots of spam on my email offering me all sorts of help in this situation. Perhaps I'll open one of the emails that I normally delete ................."
  10. I see a motorcyclist, John Donnan,  was killed at the weekend in the Supersport 600 race at Tandragee (Ireland). Who says deaths don't happen in motorbike races!
  11. You obviously know motorbike racing better than I do, but I seem to recall many tales from the Isle of Man, besides which there have been a few on the local roads around here as the  idiots think it is clever top drive their noisy absurd machines at speeds in excess of 100mph on our country roads. One of the local roads has the national record for speed in a police speed trap on a motorbike. I think it was 165mph. I regard these people with the utmost contempt. But I'm sure you guys treat the roads and your fellow road  users with respect!!
  12. Your posted picture is of a top-end professional cycle race. I have seen such carnage and deaths even in top-end motorbike races. I am talking about everyday cycling, not racing! Come to think about it not a lot of people seem to know the difference.
  13. I will have well in excess of 750,000 Euro invested + a pension plus about half of that in other assets. Our house in France is quite small and we are currently working on it - it is fully owned. It sounds like I need an accountant specialising in France! If I have to pay significantly more tax in France then we would have to rethink as I have two kids at Uni, one 7 year old and another on the way (2nd family, I should be so lucky).
